Elleby

This is not a surprise. He did it last year too. This way he can workout in front of the teams and get feedback from the teams.

The teams, NBA people will probably tell him that he will probably either get drafted about somewhere about mid 2nd round, with a chance to either slide to end of 2nd Round, an or slide to signed undrafted free agent.

They will probably tell him that he is probably better served staying 1 more year, and working on his game, and what to work on. After they tell him that, he will probably come back to WSU, like he did last year.

Only way he leaves to NBA is if he is a SOLID projection to be drafted in the 1st round, with little to no chance of sliding to 2nd round, or if he doesnt like college school work, or if he is getting bad grades, etc.

I think he will probably be coming back again.

But this does change things. Smith now has to find a replacement, in case CJ doesnt comeback.

Not surprising but of course was hoping he would stick in Pullman. Hope it works out for him.

Just because he declared for the draft WHILE RETAINING ELIGIBILITY TO PLAY IN COLLEGE, does not mean that he will not stay, stick in Pullman, come back, etc.

CJ did this, that last year, season, and fans were saying the same as if he was gone, and he came back.

He might go, he might comeback. We dont know for sure.

What we do know, is that he is projected about very last pick of 1st round at best to top of 2nd round at average, and about mid 2nd round to bottom of 2nd round at worst.

We also know that he CJ probably needs a PRETTY SOLID PROJECTION, ALMOST GUARANTEE that he is probably going to be projected to be drafted in 1st round, for him CJ to stay in NBA draft, and not come back.

One of the reasons he is declaring for draft while retaining eligibility is so that he can be EVALUATED by the NBA, be told what he needs to work on if he stays. He is trying to see if he would probably get drafted in 1st round or not. If it doesnt look like he will get drafted in 1st round, 1st pick of 2nd round, etc, then he will start asking what he needs to work on, then he would come back.

If he finds out that he would be drafted in 1st year, he is probably gone.

So we dont know yet.

So we need to stop saying he is gone.

I'm inclined to say he's coming back but a poster on brand X claims he's gone and had plenty of friction with Smith this year. To the point of getting tossed out of practices. It seems extreme but there has been buzz for a while Elleby really wants to go pro.

What know for sure: this team has a massive hole at scorer if Elleby leaves.

Saw that as well on the "friction". The poster also said the Macedonian player Andrej Jakimovski is basically a foregone conclusion and has been discussed with the players. Doesn't mean that has anything to do with Elleby coming or going but someone obviously is one way or the other.

Unless he's already received feedback from teams I wonder how he's going to get what he's looking for. Even if a team gave him a guarantee they can't know how the draft is going to unfold. Not the draft but I remember hearing Boston promised Baynes would stay if he retooled his contract or something but then they turned around and traded him. The NBA is business. There's no such thing as a guarantee.

It will be a different kind of year without workouts and thus limited feed back, especially for those without an agent. I think CJ will be back but you never know. Imo him coming back won’t really help or hurt him much it just depends on what he want to do. Wish him the best!!!

I told everyone so.

Key Words: GUARANTEED CONTRACT.

He said he wants to be guaranteed to be picked, and given a GUARANTEED CONTRACT by a NBA team.

While its theoretically possible for that to happen, get that. Its not likely.

So he is PROBABLY coming back, UNLESS some rogue NBA team gives him a guaranteed contract.

Also usually you have to be drafted in the 1st round to get a guaranteed contract.

Also probably no team is going to GUARANTEE that he will be picked in the 1st round, and get a GUARANTEED CONTRACT.

1. Thats Brand X and Brand X is sometimes wrong

2. Smith, and Elleby both, have mentioned that isnt the case.

3. Others have said that CJ is a team player, that is humble, teachable, and gets along.

4. I have seen CJ in interviews, and other public comments he has made, and his body language, demeanor, language, etc. is not consistent with seeming like a trouble maker.

5. If he was a trouble maker, coaches, players, etc, would probably have said something.

6. And if he was a trouble maker, it would be Front page news, word would get out

7. That poster PROBABLY does not know what the heck he is talking about.

8. Given all the above, I am not going to believe it, and will only believe it, if word of it gets out from a CREDIBLE source. And that's not Brand X, and that's not that poster.
