Unbelievable!
I definitely did not see or predict this on my bracket.
Even if Oregon does it via the forfeit, they were still the higher seed, and UCLA made up for it by winning two games to get the second round.
Even back when the PAC12 was good, we never had a first round like this.
Everyone makes fun of Bill Walton, but maybe he is right after-all!

Conference is doing great when we’re thought of as “down”.

I do believe a few years ago we had four teams in the sweet 16. All in separate regions.

Since 2000, four teams in Sweet 16 in 2001. Not different regions, though.

We also had three teams in for 2015, 2008, 2007, and 2002

And I'm the guy who said UCLA didn't deserve to be in the tournament. Insert big foot into bigger mouth. Shows you what I know!

Glad Cougar

Covid Question- wasn’t the West Coast more restricted as far as basketball activities longer than most of the rest of the Country? Is the PAC just catching up?

Personally I still don’t think UCLA deserved to be in the tournament. The body of work they produced during the season didn’t warrant an invite. The fact that they have taken excellent advantage of the opportunity given them is a credit to their staff and team but doesn’t change that. I hope they and the rest of the PAC continues to impress its good for the league which is good for us.

It may or may not be semantics, but I think winning two games in the tournament shows that they deserved to be in the tournament. They are good enough to be there. The committee saw enough to have them as one of the last teams to make it in.

Whether you personally would not have chosen them, I would not disagree with that choice either. When you are choosing between the 67th, and 68th team, versus the 69th or 70th team, it really is just personal choice.

Lunardi had UCLA in. Indeed according to him they weren't the last team in. Utah St was. The only team that got in that Lunardi didn't have in was Wichita St. The only team team that didn't get in that he thought should have was Louisville.
