Fox sure as hell isn’t. Nor is CNN, X,MSN…

Any recommendations?

Personally I read quite a bit of the WSJ (left leaning news, right leaning editorials) a little Bloomberg and Reuters.

You can't go with one. If you do you'll be subject to editorial bias and omissions from coverage. Two youtube channels I like are Breaking Points and Rising (The Hill).

And this can be helpful when you get away from MSM and want to know where they lean.

The rare occasion I turn on the news I’ll watch news nation. I’ve always liked Cuomo and found him to be the only one worth watching at CNN. Although it’s funny to see his shift, he’s always been fair in bringing together both sides. While at CNN he’d eviscerate Rs if they didn’t come prepped now he stays pretty neutral.

Real Clear Politics was recommended to me when I sought the same thing. I'd say it's more "balanced" in the sense of aggregating input from both sides than coming right down the middle with its own content per se, but it does a decent job on that, subject to its purview being politics (which, today, is just about everything).

1440, a newsletter, also is pretty good for just staying informed at a moderately high level regarding the news cycle in the past day or so. Not a ton of depth but it isn't terribly slanted, at least.

I’ve never considered the WSJ news room left leaning but they are very good however IMO the editorial pages lean hard right.

NYT is excellent though left leaning they do have some good conservative voices in the Op-Ed’s. Lots of real journalism going on here as with the WSJ,

Guardian is another good option to consider ( which I am).

WaPo is obviously left leaning paper but still has some good journalism to be found but Bezos is pushing hard to placate Trump and driving away staff and readers. Can be had for cheap as a result ($30/yr digital). Terrible conservative voices in the op-Eds whose only skill is goading the left reader base into clicks.

Free - I like the BBC. PBS news sometimes though obviously left they do have some very good reporting. DW news from Germany is also very good.

I bounce around a lot. BBC, Reuters are pretty common check ins. I’ll read headlines at CNN or Fox and then go look for details elsewhere. ABC is actually pretty good at getting stories out first, but you can watch them move left with every update.
Especially for events/incidents, I’ll go look at the local news - it often has a lot more fact-based information and less political slant. The national news sources always put their own spin on things. You’ll have different outlets with attribution to the same source but very different stories.
