Just watched the first episode of season 5 Last Chance U. Our own Fred Shavies had brief air time.

Season 5 is following the Laney Eagles out of Oakland where Shavies is a police officer.

This season was really good. Seeing the kid working at wingstop and living in his car say, "I hate my job, but it's my only way to make money so I can't complain" was a breath of fresh air. Also good to see Fred Shavies making a positive difference in the world.

Josh had all the "talent," a Sporting News top 100 pick. Fred had the heart though. Fred started 35 straight, the Rose Bowl being his last. Never missed a game. A true Coug if there ever was one.
