USAID highlights the problem with our government as it is now. Millions of people are likely to suffer because of the move made to gut this agency.
That said, there is no doubt that there are a lot of millionaires in our country based on generous contracts with large margins. I've read stories that USAID spent millions of dollars flying celebrities around the world and that is the kind of stupid crap that shouldn't be happening in the first place.
I don't like the way that Musk and Trump try to destroy things and rebuild them rather than looking for meaningful solutions that don't have the potential to kill people. However, 50 years of increasing bureaucracy and oversight(reach?) is the backdrop that explains why they feel that chaos is better. It sucks that we can't find a middle ground and we end up riding on a pendulum.
