Portland got a half an inch on Sunday and it was buckets. Maybe they can practice the run game.

Leach won't change his offense, the players have to adjust to the weather. Looks like rain and wind at 15-20 MPH. Hang onto the football.

WA St DOT says windy with a 50% chance of rain. I hope the heavy rains stay away, as it will not only affect our passing offense, but also our fans.

Do your anti-rain dance and hope there's a shift by Friday night.

For those of us on the East Side, we should all know the forecast means very little until we go outside and look up. For the West Siders, don't look at the forecast. It isn't worth it's weight.

What makes it over the mountains is a guess, at best. Don't look at the forecast until the night prior. Then you'll have a decent idea of what's to come.

Cougs beat a physical Utah team in SLC during the pouring down rain and crazy wind last year.

Not saying that the weather will eliminate our chances of winning, but heavy rain will reduce our home field advantage. Martin Stadium, in the rain, is one of the most uncomfortable stadium venues I've been in. The wind whips and the rain hits you directly.

Side note....I'd love to see us eventually add covered seating to the reserved sections (between the goal-line). Our fans drive 80-400 miles one-way to see the Cougs play. It would be great if we could guarantee them a dry seat.

You know… I get what you are saying. But holy cripes I long for the good 'ol days. Like Green Bay has covered seats. Like old Soldier Field in Chicago, had covered seating. Man, when it was crazy wet or cold, that got people MORE stoked because those pansies from the South would come up and freeze their azzes off and the home field advantage would be doubled!

There's this new fangled thing called a "coat". They even make some that are "water proof"…. Just sayin'. Fans in general have become so… weak. Our geography, while it can be a negative, can be our asset. We just don't utilize it that way. To HOPE for snow or wet, to give US the advantage… Instead we HOPE the sun is shining so the other team can be as efficient as we are… bah humbug, says the old fart… ;)

Yes, according to the underground......there's only 50% chance through game time and increasing afterwards. Hope to avoid the heavy rain because there might not be any mudders on this team. Mccaffrey needs a fast track as well.

This is exactly why I had zero interest in the "luxury" seating in the boxes. It's a football game, it's played outside. Sometimes it rains, sometimes it snows. Anyone who cares that much about being out of the weather should just watch it at home.

Some of the best, most memorable games I've been to, have been those in lousy weather. Really looking forward to some old school football weather this weekend. Lousy weather in front of a loud, tough home crowd, can be intimidating to play in for visitors. I'm hoping we make Saturday night very inhospitable for Stanford. Dress accordingly, and go take part in the fun.

Hey man, I agree with you. I've missed very few Cougar home games over the past 25 years. I'm dragging my 2 grade school age boys with me this weekend, and there had better be ample candy to be had in the Beasley RV lot, or I'm in trouble.

I've come to realize that I am not the typical WSU fan, unfortunately. I look at our athletic department as a business and our fans as the customers. Compared to every other Pac-12 program, our fans are not weak. OMG, not even......

We deal with a lot of losing, WSU is located hundreds of miles away from most of our homes, and it's expensive as Hell to get to the games. Foul weather is fun to watch a football game in, but more and more, the *average* fans are choosing to sit at home and watch the games on their big screen HDTV's. That phenomenon is affecting college football in general, but like everything else, WSU absorbs a greater impact.

We've bantered back and forth about the need to expand our stadium to 50, 60K seats. I disagree with that. I'm of the opinion that WSU needs to focus on making the game day experience as easy and as comfortable as possible for our fans. Easy and ample parking, great tailgaiting areas (the fieldhouse needs an overhaul), a high QUALITY stadium experience, rather than a bigger stadium.

Covered seating is foofoo, but when you're trying to entice fans into driving 80-400 miles to see a football program that usually loses, crappy weather is just one more reason for people to stay home. I don't like it, but it's a factual business obstacle. Adding covered seating needs to be considered.

Amen to this. My favorite and what completed my conversion from a cafeteria NFL fan to a college football zealot was the '92 Snow Bowl. Bad weather. Good football. Huskies losing. It was a perfect day.

CP, home field advantage? Tell me about this home field advantage of which you speak?
