Thanks SD! Hey, how were you able to upload your photo image? It seems like they've removed this option?

Are you talking about an image off the internet, or a picture/photo from your computer's hard drive?

The Apple Cup image came from my hard drive and was successful with image above, but it does require a pain point. (Thanks Suudy).

The pain point is you have to take your hard drive image, upload it to another server or site, like Reddit, and copy the image URL from that site.

It appears this save Rivals significant amount of money on their servers. Correct?

From a computer for example, if you are are interested in finding a photo of Mike Leach with a mustache, go to google, and type Mike Leach Mustache in the search field, and then click on the images tab to bring up results, click on the image you like, then right click it with your mouse and select "copy image", create your new forum post/or reply to a thread, in the blank message field right click and select "paste", and voila:

From a smart device you basically do the same thing, find your image from a site/google search/images, press down on the photo with your finger for 2 seconds and "copy image", and then go to thread/create post and hold down in the message field for 2 seconds and "paste".

I use imgur to upload my personal photos from my computer's hard drive to the internet, for blogs, or forums. Once your photo is on a website/host site, then you simply do the copy paste. It's quite simple once you get used to doing it. Here's some instructions from imgur: https://help.imgur.com/hc/en-us/articles/210076663-Uploading-Content

IT Question?
.
Is the reason why Rivals IT requires us to point an image at a URL, (instead of a .jpg directly from our hard drive), to save money on Rival servers so they can save money by pointing a URL that resides on someone elses server or cloud?

I'm not an IT person, but it is taxing for a website to "host" (pics/photos off our HD) versus someone else. At some point along the way, it is being paid by someone. That is why photo hosting companies like Photobucket and Snapfish no longer allow you to use them as a host for photos if you don't pay for their "Premium Service". Imgur still allows it, but I'm pretty sure they have created a better structure with their site by which they capitalize on advertising revenue off the photos/videos use of their site.

Photobucket is old school and made their money off people ordering/buying prints of photos and Photobucket mailed them to these people. They are an absolute mess of a site/company now where this website is so bloated with ads that you can barely even navigate it.

How many months ago did Rivals forced this change? I'm thinking it's only been a couple of months, right? We used to be able to upload our images from hard drives....or has it been more like a year?
I actually feel like it's been a very long time, like shortly after I started coming here.

Either that or I've always just posted from a linked image because I didn't want to download rando images into my computer.
