The "Good"
  • Utah bests a struggling Michigan by 1 score at home
  • Cal destroys lowly Grambling State
  • USC trounces lowly Arky State
  • Oregon State handily beats lowly Weber State
  • UCLA ousts unranked Virginia
The Bad
  • Arizona survives lowly UTSA at home by 10
  • UW drops a road game to MWC's Boise State
  • Oregon beats EWU at home, but gives up 42 to the Big Sky
  • Colorado drops to Hawaii
The Ugly
  • ASU loses by 3 scores to A&M
  • Stanford drops to unranked Northwestern
  • The mother of them all: WSU loses at home to bottom feeder Portland State
We walk away with 7 wins out of 12, but things look really bad for WSU, Stanford, UW, ASU, Colorado, and arguably Arizona (especially after losing Scooby Wright). UCLA, OSU, Oregon and even Utah could all contend but have clear issues. USC and, surprisingly, Cal look really good on both sides of the ball - though beating chumps like they did makes it hard to tell. All we know is that this could end up a shaky year for the conference.
