Houston vs Tulane tonight

Kind of an odd take. Given WSU’s non-conference... I think the Cougs would get the UCF treatment if they went undefeated this year. Certainly not as a 1-loss team. Clemson is in, then they’d put in a 1-loss SEC, B10 and B12 team over the Cougs.

You won’t have to worry about that obviously. But let’s say the Cougs had a shot at the playoff... wouldn’t you want them to have played someone worth mentioning? Or do you believe they’ll never be good enough and just getting to a decent bowl is good enough? That’s kind of what you’re inferring, no?

An undefeated PAC 12 champ being excluded from the playoff in favor of a one loss team would be a huge deal. Regardless of which school it was. The 9 game conference schedule should carry more weight than 8 right?

I think there would be a serious discussion about it given the non-conference opponents the Cougs scheduled. WSU just doesn’t have the respect that UW, USC, Oregon, Stanford would get in the same situation.

And that's the problem. It's not like Alabama and Clemson are loading up their non conference schedules. Same for the rest of their leagues. You hold one conference accountable for playing a soft schedule of 9 league games, yet you give a pass to other schools for playing less league games and maybe even losing one of them.

At some point the PAC 12 either needs to play 8 league games and stack the deck in their favor too OR the other conferences need to add a 9th league game. We will see how many losses the SEC teams have then.

If it were up to me, I'd have the PAC 12 either play 8 league games or play all 11. And if you made me pick one or the other, let's play all 11. Get our boys home at a reasonable hour and ready for the next weeks game.

Neither. Are you gonna post your tax returns and prove you're a rich guy? Doubt it. Liar.

I told you time and again. See the top bracket.

Or lump me in with 96's poop smearers. I don't care.

Otherwise, I'll assume the answer to my last question is "both"

WSU needs winnable games. Doesn't matter against who. Strength of schedule doesn't matter in rankings. Not like basketball. So why try and schedule P5 teams? Doesn't have to be FCS teams. But SDSU, UNLV, SJSU, UH, Fresno, Reno, etc are all easy trips.

Again, this isn't about you and what you think of culture. This is about winning. Your opinion of Vegas is entirely irrelevant. Do you think Saban sits down with the AD and talks about the cultural enjoyment of the fans for their non con games??? You're delusional.

Your Saban comment doesn't make sense......given the fact that Alabama hasn't played a true road OOC game since 2011.

FWIW, I agree that you schedule based on your expectations and you schedule to win.....not worry about the fan experience. In a perfect world, I would like our AD to work out a schedule that does provide some diversity in experience.

I do hope that Coug fans go to Manhattan and Lawrence when the time comes. KSU is a kindred spirit but with better tailgating. Aggieville is awesome and has to be experienced. Imagine all the bars in Pullman squeezed into a six block area. Lawrence is a bit stuck up but Mass Street is all right (if overpriced). The KC metro area is nearby and the Power and Light District is a pretty great experience. Both of those games should be winnable and fun.

I'm not a fan of the trips like Wisconsin where it feels like the trip to Pullman will be bought out and we end up on the short end of the stick. Doesn't matter if it's a fun experience, getting screwed over by the opposing AD isn't worth it.

Well... Bama did play Duke.

Clemson played Texas A&M.

You don’t need to schedule a gauntlet... just one OOC P5 opponent.

I think you're a fraud. Post your tax returns and show us all.

Quick look at Bama's schedule and they play 9 P5 teams. Same as WSU. So is the issue how many P5 teams you play or not? Cause it looks like WSU plays the same amount as Bama.

Pretty sure I just stated I don't care what you think. I was willing to temporarily take on poop smearrer. But that doesn't seem satisfactory.

I'll be thinking about you over some fine European cuisine.

Actually, I won't be thinking of you at all. I'm truthful that way.

What value does a loss to Wisconsin have if you finish just shy of bowl eligibility?

There is no moral victory league or national championship.

Times have changed. They didn't use to worry about bowl games, they worried how to pay next months rent check.

Now they have shared revenue, some would call it football socialism, they can schedule themselves to another bowl game.

The fact that you race to your computer to respond to my posts tells me that you do think about me.

Olive Garden isn't fine cuisine. But go with it.

I'll make you a deal. You tell me how many fingers to hold up grasping a Coug baseball hat and I will take a picture in the background of an identifiable landmark in London next week. Might be Big Ben, might be Wimbledon, might be Wembley, don't know where the adventure may go on any given day.

Then you retract every slander you just made in this thread about my income level and truthfulness. And then you post of pic of you holding a sign saying "I'm biggs. I think I know everything but I don't".

Fair enough?

Who the hell is going to post their tax returns on a football message board to assuage someone who can't handle the fact that someone is in a top tax bracket?

I think you can schedule with fan experience in mind if your program is in the toilet and you want to offer the fans something to look forward to. Other than that, you gotta schedule to win with at most 1 game that has a little potential risk, but you should still most likely win 8 of 10 times.
