I’m flipping, keep Rolo.

Please Rolo take a J&J shot and build some momentum for F’s sake. The team clearly loves the guy. Don’t implode the program.
Staff has clearly coached up this team. Hard to deny that. The team wants to play for him/them.

When Jess spoke to JDL and asked if he had anything to say to the fans, he ended with something like, “Stop hating on Rolo! We love him!”

My biggest football related knock is that I wish Coach would take a few field goals. Take one against the Beavs and our D isn’t in that position at the end. Same thing today if we take a couple of the three that were available. It’s going to bite us at some point.

I’ve changed my tune, though. Coach is doing something right.

It’s his choice if he does it or not. He needs to make the best decision for himself. My job requires it so I had too and had no problem or side affects. At this point, it’s part of the job $3 million or no $3 million. I don’t care if he gets it or not but we don’t need the drama. We already have the kassidy woods drama.

The fact that he thinks people are hating on Turd just cause they can is ridiculous. Turd has made his own bed.

I flipped after last week against Oregon State.

We literally made adjustments from Game 1 and Game 2, and de Laura was out the second half of USC. We all thought Rolo was over his head, that he should be coaching in Mountain West or Big Sky. He only had one good season in Hawaii, and that Pat made a hiring mistake.

Then I realized I was wrong. I have flipped, as well. Pat didn't make a mistake. I like Rolo's character. I love that the players' play for him. I like that he's level headed and mature. He is a leader. We were wrong. A few adjustments, and that's all, except.....throwing long on 4th and 2? But, who's perfect?

This team plays extremely hard. I always consider that one of the key metrics of an effective coaching staff. Great win. I thought JDL looked great tonight. Cougs have won 3 in a row and the QB position had a great deal to do with this winning streak. I'm not sure how anyone can be disappointed in JDL's improvement and the team's overall improvement. That last drive for the game winning TD looked like it was engineered by a veteran QB.

Hats off to the defense in that last drive. Jackson and Stone are players.

Glad Cougar

I love that JDL has learned to put some touch on passes from time to time rather than throwing nothing but fastballs. Sure, he’s still learning. But someone has been in his ear about one of the bigger things that needed improvement. They may not all hit the mark but the long balls on the sideline are more often than not on the outside shoulder. I’m not sure any were in the first several games.

if you think the backlash is gonna go away if he gets fired on Monday then you are quite naive. Conservative media will have a hay day w Chun and Schultz if they can't accommodate him. He gets tested every day and he wears a mask. Let him coach these players that obviously like him. DeLaura and Stutzmann got some good stuff cooking. He is practically a freshman too. Don't mess up a good thing.

Makes it even more frustrating that we effed around with Guarantano for the USU game.

We got a gauntlet coming with BYU, ASU & Oregon, then it’s Zona & UW. Could have really used that USU win in the bank.

I not sold on Rolo yet. But he has earned not being fired until either the end of season or end of next season.

For me, even if he were to coach vs BYU, that's a loss either way. ASU should be a close win.

If it's a close loss or loss to BYU but a win vs ASU, then WSU would be 5 wins, 4 losses, an probably gets at least 1 more win, a 6,7 win season after ASU.

If WSU goes 4-5, by losing to both BYU, ASU, then WSU probably either loses rest or just barely wins 1 more, unless losses to BYU, ASU extremely close, just barely lost losses, and ends up with only 4,5 wins.

So that's the season line for me. If WSU/Rolo go at least 5 wins,4 losses, then I'm sold. If WSU/Rolo go 4 wins, 5 losses, then I not sold, and wouldn't be sold unless won last 2,3, which probably wouldn't happen after going 4 wins an 5 losses.

So the next 2 games are going to sell me or not sell me games

If I not sold, I think Rolo maybe should be fired at end of season. An or maybe get 1 more season an be on firing hot seat.

But I think Rolo will be fired due to the Vax thing. Which too bad because I think Rolo has earned coaching until the end of season, and then reevaluate whether to retain him.

Riddle me this - of almost 8,000 employees in the SPS and CVSD, every one has been either vaccinated or exempted. Four left on their own accord. Every member of the Spokane Fired Department was accommodated. And somehow Rolo won't be riding a three game winning streak?

That doesn't make mathematical sense that he will be singled out and kicked to the curb. Also, there are five assistants who apparently are not vaccinated either. All wearing masks yesterday. Going into BYU with 4 coaches? Not buying it.

Delta Airlines CEO yesterday publicly said they would not follow Biden's phantom mandate and that no employees will be terminated for vaccination status. More companies will follow.

This is all a big show, folks.

BYU lost again this week at Baylor, so they’re facing back to back trips to Texas and Pullman. ASU also lost to Utah.

While not supremely confident, I’m not writing either of those games off.

United Airline CEO would disagree with you . So would majority of CEO’s.

Until they don’t. Deltas guy was a big vaccine or bust guy. All over CNBC. He saw what happened in one weekend with SWA and reversed course quickly.

It’s about the profits and the power. And when that starts slipping, the reversals and pivots begin.

The school districts saw the writing on the wall and passed everyone. No way they could have operated with a 10% reduction in staff. Watch what is going to happen in local elections, too. The mean orange guy is gone. It's about the economy, stu...you know the rest.

This whole thing is going to unravel in less than six months. Whether people want to vax or don’t will be at their own informed consent. As it should have been all along.

I haven't made up my mind on Rolo the coach (regardless of his vaccine stance). This team should have been good last year, and this year. Until now, the results have disappointed.

So far, they won against two horrible teams, one bad team, and one average team. If he is around, the next three games will tell us a lot. First up, home against BYU, then on the road against ASU, and Oregon.

Well there was a conference with top ceos all over the country . To a person they said number one thing they need to do is get their employees back to the office and they were willing to take short term hit to get them back long term .

Yours is one narrative . United Airlines has 99% vax, lose 500 employees . I have a feeling corps can take a hit for one quarter . Can the average employee .

I think we are about right on schedule. Being a new coach during Covid with no spring ball and only 4 games...and a true frosh QB as your best QB prospect...we are hiting stride about where I would expect.

The main thing for me is the improvement and the kids are buying in and playing hard .

Hey may not have Leach: success...but we saw what not buying in looks like. We don't have that problem now.

(1) I have no problem giving Rolo a pass for last year. New coach + new system + no spring ball to implement all the changes + no experienced QB = underwhelming shortened season.

(2) PSU is horrible. I'd put Cal in the "bad" category, not horrible. They took UO to the last play of the game the other night in Eugene. Stanford beat UO. OSU is still a one-loss team in conference play.

(3) I don't understand why so many fans this year seem to want to minimize a 3-game winning streak. In past years, there would be a lot more positivity as a result of winning.

(4) Yes, the next three games will tell us a lot. But after watching a couple of gut-check games that ended up in the victory column, I'd say we've learned a lot already about this team.

Glad Cougar

We have some fans who have lost all perspective as it relates to the success of our program. They minimize conference wins for some reason.

In back to back weeks, we’ve beaten teams who shellacked USC on the road, the same SC team who beat us down at home. That shows me that the team is fighting and evolving. We damn near won at Utah with our backup QB. Oregon scored 21 points at Stanford including an OT period. We scored 34 points in 3 quarters, and it probably should have been 40+.

This team is a blast to watch. We’ve got a fantastic young QB to build around, and I’m hearing that Xavier Ward has many of the same qualities. It’s too bad that all of this vaccine stuff happened. There’s no way Chun “wants” to fire Rolo.

The buying in angle. The last two times WSU had this issue was from Doba to Wulff, and Wulff to Leach. Wulff came in and burned things to the ground. He alienated half the team immediately. Buy the time he left, he had recruited all the players, and they liked him,

When Leach replaced Wulff, he demanded something of the players that many of them weren't ready for the message. They weren't trying hard enough.

When Rolo took over, he already had a team that knew what it took to win. It had been to a bowl every year. It had players that had challenged for the P12 North title. He had a much easier message to sell, and being a players coach after Leach helped as well.

If he is here this week, I want to see how the team does the next few weeks, and the rest of the season.

Let's not forget, you win with quality football players, and we are shaping up to have the worst recruiting class since Wulff. by a wide margin, and the true crap associated Woods lawsuit hasn't truly hit the fan, not a single deposition excerpt has been made public. Eastman was considered a great hire initially, based on coaching alone, but then the lack of recruiting began to manifest itself. Rolo has done solid job with Leach's talent, but can he do the same with top 100 recruiting classes, which is where we are heading?

Do we know how many super seniors are coming back next year?

Spokane Fire Dept is not accommodating their firefighters who were given exemptions. The Spokane Valley FD is keeping theirs but they don’t have as many to deal with.

It’s definitely inconsistent but unless you work remote, a lot of State employees, schools etc are getting their walking papers Monday.

Delta never had a mandate. They encouraged everyone to get vaccinated and charged everyone an extra $200 per month for health insurance that wasn’t. They are at 90% vaccination rate currently. They are ignoring the federal mandate (for now) requiring companies who are contractors of federal agencies to be vaccinated or test weekly.

What high school kid in their right mind would commit to a school right now with all the talk about us firing the head coach mid season? It’s idiotic to commit to a coach who might not be there when you sign.

What black kid would sign with a coach being sued in federal court for civil rights violations? What kid would sign with a coach who brought this nonsense all on himself? To answer your question, 3 of our 9 verbals signed since the mandate was announced, but Rolo was struggling to recruit long before then, probably in large part due to the Woods affair and bad press, all around.

Lol, what a reach of a statement. Carry on with your rubbish. Leach spoke at a Trump rally, tweeted he didn’t know why players were kneeling and tweeted a doctored video of Obama and still signed kids.

You keep calling him a turd while recommending Derek Mason to be head coach.

Does wanting to talk to someone mean recommending him to be HC??? Nope.

Nice try. Do you have stones enough to put a name out there and have an opinion??? Or just stones enough to talk shit about someone that does behind a computer screen? Weak brent.

If that is the case, I wonder why all of the African American players seem to like him and are playing their hearts out.

Your argument that he is a civil rights liability doesn't hold water.

If he can't recruit, that's a whole other argument. Winning will solve that if that is indeed the case.
