I expect other players to "pursue" opportunities as well...

...said this last week, Leach is going to clean out the roster.

Seems to be his MO. If you are a 3rd year player and don't project to contribute as a solid player the next year, you go.

Leach didn't purge Monroe...Monroe quit...

Monroe chose to leave the team. Leach thought so much of him he took him to the Pac 12 media day. You can say a lot of things about Leach, but he wants to win. He fired his best friend.

I would suspect there will be a DB or three that leave, including a freshman. While he wanted the roster cleaned out in 2012 so he could get his own players in, that isn't the case going into year four.

Regardless of what anyone has stated on this, this is not a good sign. One of your leaders is gone. He seemed to be a good attitude guy so I am troubled by this.

Everyone has a great attitude when they play...There are very few Paul Menc

out there. By all accounts he was beaten out because of production. He wants to play, he doesn't like the uncertainty that if he doesn't perform that he won't play. He wants guaranteed playing time. It is only natural.

You know this is the one and only reason...or conjecture/speculation?

If it wasn't the reason, then he would've left last year or the year before during Leach's first year. Like others said, Peyton took his spot and I'm guessing next year Leniu might overtake him too. You have both of those guys at his spot, he's sitting the bench his whole senior year.

It's hard to lead from the bench. I'm sure he was a good kid, and we all wish him the best, but he packed his bags and walked out on the team after he lost his starting job. Not many "leaders" do that.
