Everytime I think about how they continually have raided the WSU coaching staff and what do they have to show for it, 4 straight losses ( the last 3 by double digits) I have to chuckle.

All I saw out of Big Joe Saturday was him having to comfort a crying Duck player before halftime, because he lost his jock trying to tackle an 18 year old Running Back fresh outta high school. His D-line was so ineffective at playing football they decided to start playing volleyball in the 2nd half. Batted down passes although annoying are also a sign that the D-line has given up trying to rush. And there are supposed to be high draft picks on that line ?

Then there is Mastro. Well he has finally gotten to run his beloved pistol. It netted a grand total of 58 yards rushing. If you watch the Williams/Borghie post game they did not mince words on how they played a notch higher to show him what he left behind.

Good old Phil Knight saw what was coming with Leach is his territory and decided he would try to get some of the "intellectual property " of what he was doing by throwing money at his assistants . Kill 2 birds with one move ,enhance his staff and "hurt" Leach. How's that idea working out for you Phil ?

It stems from the "lose to anyone but Oregon State and Washington State" mentality. Even Mastro with the binoculars..(did you catch that) couldn't steal a victory...much less the signs that night. LMAO

I noticed the binoculars as well. Desperate move if they were trying to steal signals.

I think Oregon has become a bit lazy. There is no doubt they have great resources and "brand" but they seem to rely on it. Despite them raiding our staff I haven't felt an Oregon advantage on the sideline since Chip left.

Chip Kelly's rapid fire offense is no longer unique, and the top level talent he was recruiting is long gone. Cristobal wants to run more power, and that means you have to have better athletes then the competition. Oregon doesn't, and the coaching turnover will hurt for a while in recruiting. The new starter at RT was pretty much getting his butt kicked the whole game.

They still are talented but not like they were when under Kelly. At one point I believe Kelly was rotating a complete OL during the game. Now they lose one freshman (albeit a talented frosh) and it's used as an excuse.

They are still going to get talent to Eugene. I have my doubts on the merits of moving to more of a power running game but system is just one element. You need the talent to run it and the substance around it to make it work. The Air Rade isn't exactly unique any longer either.
