that every player who has left did not have their scholarship either renewed or honored.
Smith is cleaning house.

Interesting. Wonder if Murphy is in the same boat. He's a great offensive player but might not bring the defensive intensity Smith wants.

Better now than later. Like with Leach there's also culture that needs to change.

EDIT: Something fundamentally changed with Murphy who was all-in about remaining a Coug. Will be interesting when his story is tracked down.

For all your Smith hate, I'm surprised he hasn't pulled your scholarship off this message board.

I seriously doubt the players that left didn't have their scholarships renewed or weren't honored. Maybe that would be the case for 1 or 2 players in a program but not 5-6. I look at this this 2 ways. (1) this next year was going to be a wash anyway because the roster still had dead weight on it. So this is a chance for new staff to grab some sit out players for next year with all the scholarships available. (2) We get an early look at whether they can hit the ground running and maybe what kind of connections the new staff has??? Losing Murphy stings and if they were to lose Cannon or Henson that would sting as well.

Only three players have left the program: Skaggs, Ali, and Wade. Two have opened up their recruitment. A walk on who didn't see the floor doesn't count.

Pollard came back. Elleby will be back as well.

however you want to phrase it, by my count that's 5 scholarships at the moment. swap out walk ons Chatfield for Streeter. we haven't heard about Henson as of yet but I would be more surprised if he sticks with WSU then goes on his way. From what I hear Murphy was a good friend of his and I remember seeing a pic on their visit together with coach Mcroy.

Skaggs, Pollard, and Johns all took off prior to Smith getting hired. So they wouldn't enter into the equation w/r/t having scholarships pulled. Pollard was recruited back.

So I put the number of people who have taken off at a net of 2 losses. With the possibility of Henson leaving and Johns returning.
