I realize the WBB teams has had some moments this season, but ...

overall have the two WSU basketball programs returned to the depths of the Jenny P. and Graham years? (I know, I know... "ya think?").

Not IMO. The loss of the transfers really hurt our inside and depth. Most Pac 12 programs have at least one big that kills us inside. Kostourkova does her best but she’s just not very quick and has trouble finishing on the other end. Against UCLA other than Molina we simply missed a lot of open shots.

Year 1 but I really think Ethridge is a quality coach. She doesn’t offer excuses up and she’s tough. It’s going to take time for us to play how she wants and will obviously come down to whether she can recruit.

You're right it will be all about recruiting. And of course getting older and more experience, but in WBB the Pac12 is loaded top to bottom. Much tougher than the MBB part.

There really aren't many breaks in the Pac 12 other than UW, CU, and us at this point. We had a 4-game stretch where we played top 25 Cal and then 3 straight top 10 programs. UCLA/USC are talented even though they haven't played well this year.

We need Hristova to stick around and the 3 recruits to at least provide some depth next season. Hopefully they are able to find more help as well.

I think they're headed in the right direction. Just don't have players (enough of them anyway) especially inside. Kostourkova and Subasic are pretty much it on the inside and they're both limited. Motuga plays down there some, but she's on the short side and a freshman to boot. If Etheridge can get a few good recruits I think she turns it around.

Etheridge should call her dad Harold who coached OL for Wulff

That is really harsh on the women's side. JP's last year was 2-27, 0-18 in the Pac-10. And some of the scores were uuuugly. Go to link below.

-The women are 7-15, 2-9. And did beat the mutts. A rare thing around here.

Got to give Ethridge a break this year. Lots of turnover from last year's team and a new system being installed. When Lou Brown and Nike McClure jumped ship even I could see impending trouble in the paint.

Uh, yeah, setting Ethridge up against Jenny P. is cruel and unusual punishment. If CougEd and Yaki were appointed co-coaches of the women's team they would be unable to achieve the level of hostility and fractured dysfunctionality that Coach Psycho brought to the program all by herself. JP was a classic, one of a kind or so I hope. Those young enough to have missed that era may consider themselves blessed. Coach Psycho made CPW look like Vince Lombardi.

.

Loosing Kayla Washington as well as Tayrn Shelley stung as well. Washington was a nice rebounder. Shelley has evidently not what we thought she might be.
