I think We Should Interview San Jose State's Coach

He totally out coached us with our former OC and backup QB....and showed how flexible he is when it comes to offenses.

As an aside, I never really liked Dickert. I couldn't put my finger on it but I told my brother that he was a little too Rah-Rah for me.

I think someone here said it best...he reminded him of Russell Wilson with endless coaching cliches leaving his mouth.

If he ever vacations down here, I will recommend a good coconut tree for him to stand under.

Yeah, I was at least one person that brought up Russell Wilson. I enjoy coach pressers and interviews. Dick Bennett was great literally from his first sentence of his initial presser IMO. Leach could get odd and strangely boring but still legendary. Kyle Smith literally going straight to the radio interview after games. Win or lose you get the feeling the good ones are authentic. From year 1, I wouldn't last more than a sentence or 2 on anything Jake had to say. Yeah rah-rah but also staged. DGibs "robot" rings true for me. He bothered the s*** out of me for some reason.

I'll give him this. I remember friends and family being happy about the hire. I wasn't and let them know, but I had to acknowledge I was wrong. Still didn't like him, but he got us through a tough spot. Checking out at least the last 2 years late in the season and bolting basically a week out before the bowl leaves a bitter taste after all his BS coach speak. Not only did he leave us in a rough spot, but he gloated about it.

I am really not that spurned by his departure. I think it's directed at the admin with some middle fingers up (the private jet picture) and frankly if he wants to get his bag, so be it. Not like I have to think about him ever again. It's...whatever, I guess. He's well behind someone like Chun leaving WSU in terms of "f*uck you rankings."

WSU gets off his $2.7m/year deal (without cutting more...), gets a buy-out and will probably put their new HC into the $1.7m-2.2m range. The problem with this is you have a lame duck president and a BoR with no gravitas leading the charge. It wouldn't surprise me to see them whiff on a candidate or two by low balling them. Hard to believe there was a time WSU was paying a coach $4m+/year and now they're back to pinching pennies...as if that has worked before.

I don't agree so much. He spoke out (to me pretty genuinely) after macafee and espn shit all over us. He wasn't very "political" there and he seemed to show genuine enotion with the biggest wins we've had. Not quite the same as "measured" russ wilson. Taihtsat
