What's going to happen if we win the Holiday bowl?

Not sure we’re really going to have to worry about this. Our defensive starters were bad, and we’re going to be playing the backups. Looks like the entire DL is leaving.
McCoy came out and said that anyone in the portal can still play. That may have been a necessity. If we exclude the kids who have already announced, I’m not sure we can make a 2-deep.

Ok, what did McCoy do? So are you telling me that guys who entered, say 13-14 days ago (ex: Wayshawn) and I assume have not practiced with the team can suit back up and replace guys that have been elevated and are practicing their asses off?
I was a fan of saying portal enterers should be able to play, BEFORE the portal opened. Not 2 weeks later. And who the F is Anne McCoy to make that decision? Our Bowl game coach is 53 years old. That's his job.
Honestly, at this point I barely care. Even most of the guys who are in the portal I’ve seen play 10-12 games. I’ve got no attachment to them. The ones that will play the bowl, I probably barely know their names and half of them will be in the portal by this time next year.
Continuity leads to familiarity. Familiarity leads to attachment, which leads to investment. A total lack of continuity and familiarity means that I’m no longer invested. I’m not even that upset about Mateer and Dickert, because I don’t blame them (Their choices really seem like no-brainers) and because I just don’t care enough anymore to get upset about it.
College football that I loved and grew up on doesn’t exist anymore. Cougar football is on life support. And “once a Coug, always a Coug” is dead. That’s not a world that I’m going to dedicate much of myself to.
Suuuuure, you can play! Perhaps even start and get your precious playing time on tape for your upcoming interviews!

Can you really expect a portal kid to put their career on the line by playing/ playing 100% while they're trying to attract a new suitor?
If they’re still trying to attract a new team - yes, I expect they’d try pretty hard. Maybe harder than they did all season.
Bowls are going to become the Sunday 8AM tipoff loser out at AAU tournament games.

Unless the bowl games somehow pay the players... and also pay based on performance
