I don't know that there's any evidence out there, I don't know that anyone has talked to him, don't know if he's even available. But I sure wouldn't mind if he wanted to move up north. Thoughts?

Thorpe tossed that name out at first, but if it was him I'd think they make the hire by now. He's revived his career somewhat at La Tech and they lead the nation in turnovers created. I think it'll be a good hire for us. No leaks whatsoever with any names, which is good because it can really backfire on you if it doesn't pan out.

Yeah, I saw that he put it out there but no discussion here. Just a wanted to know what people thought. I'm no Ed. I have no inside info… just curious what reactions people have to him. I could EASILY see the timing about right. Want to get all his ducks in a row, want to play the bowl game without distraction, etc. etc.

IMHO, the longer the wait, the long it indicates it's someone in a more major bowl… which to me is good news.

EDIT: I honestly got the idea to post this because twitter sent me an alert on all these people that I follow, are following him. Then I remembered his name being thrown out there but zero real discussion...

At this point, it wouldn't suprise me if Leach waited until February after the national coaches convention to fill the job.

I say that has he's got Harrell out their recruiting guys.

A lot of the work being done now is getting on juniors, offering them, while keeping your current kids in the fold.

And since Leach is stubborn, and wants to march to his own drum, I throw all conventional thinking about recruitment of this position and the associated timing.

Harrell is out recruiting. It was posted a few weeks ago. He's been put into the role of one of the coaches and cleared the NCAA.

True, Harrell and Jarrail Jackson both have been recruiting (although currently it is a dead period). Before the season started, they both took and passed the NCAA test regarding recruiting. There is a clause that allows a school to designate staff to recruit if they are down assistant coaches as long as they passed the recruiting test
