No private schools on the list.

See if Orange Gravy's theory about money and top 20 lineup are correct ? No USC and Notre Dame on the list. UT and TAMU are huge under-achievers given their money.

A little surprised Louisville is so high and that a place like Minnesota is up there with Oregon (but this undoubtedly doesn't reflect Oregon's financial picture fully ... e.g., Knight building the arena). Some other surprises at the margins. Otherwise, this is pretty much what I'd expect.

Schools in the B10 and certain schools like L'ville benefit greatly from getting a ton of revenue from basketball. It is tough when a school only has one sport driving revenue.

Ah ... yeah, that makes sense.

When Leach came to WSU he wanted a job. He was out of coaching for two years. I am sure promises were made to him, such as IPF. I see people on this site complain about Leach's perceived imperfections. WSU has less resources comparatively in the PAC-12, than Texas Tech had in the Big 12. WSU in terms of revenue should be in the Mt. West. If WSU is doing the best they can to support their programs, they get what they can afford. I see people accusing Leach of wanting more money. It is so much more than that. It is facilities to help with player development and recruiting. It is about having whatever he needs to get and keep the coaches he wants. It is about feeling appreciated. Is that not what we all want on our jobs. To have the resources to do well and keep those talented people under you happy for as long as you can, rather than having to train new people every couple years. All the open SEC jobs have more resources than WSU. Arkansas would put him in a better position within the SEC, than he had a Texas Tech in the Big 12.

TOP SCHOOL REVENUE

I see where Houston is on the list, but ever they have donors that donated entire buildings to the university. I suggest you just do what you can to support Leach and hope for the best. If he leaves it is going to be tough.

Your new men's basketball was no even given the resources he was used to to run his nerd-ball. That would have cost the university less than a couple hundred thousand. He came anyway and does it the old fashion way. It is like hiring a secretary and giving her a word processor instead of a computer. If that is the best the university can do and they are fine with it, so be it. Do not complain, however, when the coaches prove to be imperfect. You get what you pay for.

Agree with the reality of your post when it comes to WSU. We have improved our collective station but are still pindling compared to all of P5 let alone the power programs. Given the numbers above though I'm not sure Arkansas (let alone Ole Miss or Mizzou) would put Leach in the same position as he was at Tech. Arkansas is looking up at 7 other SEC programs in A&M, 'Bama, UGA, Florida, Auburn, LSU, and Tennessee who all seem to have more recent "tradition" than Arkansas with 4 or those programs in the same division. Tech isn't is way down compared to UT and Oklahoma but overall #5 in the Big 12.

I bring it up because while Leach isn't old he is almost 60. Maybe Arkansas doesn't care and are only thinking a coach like Leach would put them in a position to stop being a laughing stock. A lot can change as well. Saban won't coach forever but today I have a hard time thinking anyone is going to get Arkansas over Alabama, LSU, Auburn, and even A&M in the next 4-5 years.
