With the loss to Northwestern today, the Huskers drop to 3 and 5. Personally, I think he'll hang on, but Nebraska fans aren't the most patient lot.

Feel bad for him. Like Price, he saw the sand falling through the hourglass and took one last shot at the big time.

Its ugly on the boards, but I think the vast majority are prepared to live with a retool. The Big Red has lost late and not looked particularly good in any of the games played. But so far we have been competitive and NO blowouts to teams we should have beat. So I think that alone will buy him some time to get his guys in place. It's not going to be easy, but he deserves at least 3-4 years. (If he wants it)

On the other side of the coin. GO COUGS! What a great three week run. It is awesome to see the Crimson being sported with pride again. As I entered the CENEX store Saturday. The first words out of the counter dudes mouth was "hey did you hear, the Cougs made it 3 Ina row." I wish I could be at Martin next week, Well done.

I think he gets one more year because it looks like the Cornhuskers are close to being good and the people that matter still see that (I think). Another year of woulda, coulda, shouldas and it's over though. No excuses for that in Lincoln two years in a row.

With the exception of the Sarkiffin hires, the Riley to Nebraska was the head scratcher of the past 5 years. He did not have a record of excellence, so it was all predicated on the "Well, if he did that well THERE, then he will do SO much better here with all the advantages," etc. It was a bad hire, but he'll get one more year to demonstrate the combine has turned around.....
