is this happening?

Interesting if true. Surprised Navy was not in the mix. I like the E/W split; keeps the travel reasonable. I wonder how many league games for each team...7, 8 or 9? If you are going to play everyone in your division every year, it would have to be at least 8. If mostly in-division, the travel is no worse for us than it has historically been. The flip side is that for several of these teams, coming to WSU is not clearly their worst road trip, especially with the Pullman/Moscow airport upgrades. I'm guessing 6 league games in-division with 2 out, for a total of 8 league and 3 non-conference.

I assume the 5 guys with lower shares were the guys who were borderline and would not have otherwise gotten in; sort of like Oregon and Washington for the B10.

Enough TX and FL teams to keep those recruiting areas active.

This would be a highly interesting, competitive and entertaining league. I would be very interested in seeing teams such as Memphis and Tulane come to Pullman. The AAC has some very good teams. I think I would pick UNLV over CSU because of the TV market and they have a higher ceiling if they ever get their act together.

The BSU fans are as insufferable as Whoregon and the Leg Humpers. Sigh. Well, we got rid of two of them, so a net reduction of 1 a$$hat fan base.

Are they? I haven’t found them to be that bad. I went to the game in Boise several years ago and most of them were pretty cool.

Now, whether you want a conference with their academic standing in the Pac is another discussion. I don’t think beggers can be choosers at this point and you have to take any schools that can help the legitimacy of the conference. Of course Furd has to sign off on this which is the bigger challenge.

Its someone's dream, however, things have been quiet the last few days, make me think something is in the works. Have a hard time believing Stanford would go for this.

Just saw this article. Linear TV has less than 50% of the viewers these days, which includes over the air and cable TV. So more people are streaming for TV content these days. They also mention how the Streaming services will suffer this year due to the writer's strike, and Linear TV will gain share due to Football this fall, so might be the perfect time to go back to Apple with a new conference proposal to keep subscribers coming.

Perhaps it is a mid-Idaho thing. What is shocking around here south of Whitebird is that all the college stickers are either O or BSU. Just a smattering of UofI, and rarely a WSU. But the BSU fans here think they were stiffed by the BCS. But my experience at the BSU games in Pullman or Moscow over the years is that they are entitled pricks.

And this is something the BSU fans I've met don't care about. Indeed, I'm not sure if most fans care about.

It doesnt have to be forever. It can be for right now. But if realignment happens again, WSU isnt going to get the benefit of the doubt. Gotta win all these games.

It wasnt long ago that their fans wanted us out of the pac to make room for them, pricks

Football games are weird. I’ve attended some venues multiple times and had completely different experiences. A couple of douchebags can whip up the mob mentality and make for a miserable experience. One of the best times I had was as a Broncos fan at a Raider game in Oakland. I was fully prepared to wear batteries and get pissed on for 4 hours, and couldn’t have had a more opposite experience.

That’s why I always try to make a point of taking care of visiting fans if idiots are harassing them. Unfortunately, the majority of society are pussies in these situations and won’t stand up for people if they part of the home crowd.

Yeah I went to the BSU game down there in 1988 and it was fine. As opposed to some WSU home games. One time I saw a drunken Dad literally punch his son in the face in the next section over.

Reno was fun. Beer service under the bleachers.

I saw that happen once in sec 25. Fathet and son fist fight. Security dragged them out

Curious for you old timers on here. What was Oregon like back in the day when they were a punching bag in the conference? I’d think the fandom there woulda resembled what you get at a WSU game. Mostly alums who are pretty humble and gracious hosts. Was it still bad, or did all that start with The Pick?

They were fine back then, mostly alums. People with a tie to the school, success brought the bandwagon fans and jerkism ensued

It was a couple of rows below me, towards sec 24. I seem to remember the son going after the security guard, maybe a bloody nose? It must have been at least 20 years ago

I dunno, I was drunk as usual. All I remember is Dad punching kid in the face.

Clearly the same game. Those were the dsys, we used to get hammered in the fieldhouse before the game but not to that extent, nice father don relationship
Yeah I would get hammered in the stands. Had a fanny pack that would hold about 17 airline liquor bottles, which I would save and refill. Would sit and be bartender for my pals. One time my buddy and I snuck beers in. Security nailed us. All they did was take the beers. Ahh, the old days.

Stanford in the same conference as Boise Junior College? I find that hard to believe.

Per SI:

"Stanford is one of the four remaining Pac-12 teams that has been named the "Pac-4" and while they don't have clarity on their situation they have optimism. New head coach Troy Taylor who is in charge of undoing the damage that the last few seasons of David Shaw's tenure, has already expressed confidence that Stanford will be in a Power 5 and it appears that confidence remains steady.

In a report on the app formerly known as Twitter, media consultant Jim Williams expressed that Stanford is still not wavering in their confidence in themselves. Williams even went as far to say that they have a belief that they can join the ACC "as soon as this week"."

I bring 4-6 beers in just about every single game and have been for years. Got caught chugging one time. They basically told me not to do it again.

In the days when the wood stands were still on the north side we got in with a two gallons of hot buttered rum for four of us. It was a cold day with flurries. It was against Oregon in ‘73. I sort of remember it.

I've told this story before but will tell it again. Back in the 80's, you could bring anything into the stadium as long as it wasn't glass. So we brought in a 5 gallon gas can full of spodie odey, and passed it up and down the aisle. By halftime we were out, so my buddy and I jumped on my bike and zoomed to the liquor store for another half gallon of vodka. Gawd, those days. How the F did I live, let alone get a degree?

Gawd I loved my time at WSU. It's a Coug thing, people just don't understand.

This looks like this guy’s own pet rumor. He’s been posting about it since Aug 2.

Not saying it’s entirely BS, but it doesn’t look real. And if it is…that eastern division is pretty weak. The west will dominate. Not sure the media deal would be very good either.

Then there’s this. Don’t know how reliable this is either.
I think the poster cited in this one was spouting a lot of rumors right after the collapse. Pretty sure he’s the one that said OSU was about to sign with the Big 12
