You have 2 RBs that are averaging 5 yards per attempt between them. You have 2 slot receivers that will likely be in NFL camps. You have at least one OL that will be in a NFL camp.

The HS coaching in this state is as bad as it has ever been. Open enrollment, transfer short cuts, teacher union in some districts, no NWAC football and fewer D2 or D3 programs for these coaches to have played at.
And salary multiplier between Rolo and this guy is about 30x. In Walden's day it was less than 2x and it is unlikely the carny barker would've won much at the HS level based on his poor X and O skills.
This Eastlake guy has no route onto a college staff. His buddy at Skyline Steve Gervais who joined Tyrone's 0-12 death ship saw to that.
State demographics aren't what it was and HS FB in this state is becoming populated more and more with mediocre rich kids.

Did they state why he turned them off? Because the OL from Texas had a lot of good things to say about Rolo's approach.

Correct - the old school WWII and Korean War vets are all deep into their 80's. Their coaching protegees are nearing if not already retiring, too.
The next generation is the first group of coaches who grew up playing Daddy Ball AAU and travel teams.

WA in state talent is whatever, but pissing off all the in state high school coaches seems stupid and pointless.
I've been around enough of these HS coaches to know that most of them think they're the next coming of Vince Lombardi, and that every thought that escapes their mouth is coaching gold (sound like anyone on this board????).
I don't know Rolo, and I don't know what he's said and done to the coaches in WA state, but based on the tweet listed above Rolo did exactly ZERO to that coach or his kids personally, that coach just had an opinion on how Rolo made the transition, and honestly that opinion isn't worth more than a velvet painting of a dolphin and a unicorn getting it on.
I don’t know about that, it’d be pretty bold of him to publicly lie about how the staff addressed our past coaches. And if what he said is true it’s hilarious this staff would talk ill about anyone. Gives insight into the delusions.
Where in my post said he lied on Rolo? I said it doesn't matter what he thinks about Rolos transition. That being said, he doesn't provide a source, and even if he did it would be second hand information. I'm not saying the man (Rolo) is perfect, but this kind of information or criticism, expecially when its 2nd or 3rd hand, just doesn't move the needle for me. Now, if a kid comes out and verifies this or makes the statement for himself, that's another story. As it stands its some coach tweeting "well, I heard Suzy say her brother's nephew is a player at WSU and while he didn't hear it, one of the other kids did and told him about it."
One last edit - Rolo doesn't need a rumor mill about his "bad coaching transition" to get him fired - the results on the fields and possibly the mandate will take care of that, so again... I really don't care about Rolo's supposed opinion on the facilities or whether or not he asked kids to not wear shirts from the previous regime.

Curious who this guy was, because this seems like kind of an odd thing to tweet about. I don't think he's still the head coach at Eastlake. Twitter bio says former head coach and there's an article from March stating he'd be stepping down.
His Twitter bio also says "2002 Pac 10 Champ". Was this guy maybe on that '02 WSU squad? Maybe he's just a frustrated alum with a little insight on recruiting.
A little more research : Hes a central grad (prob wanted to go to WSU) and then later coached at WSU? So P10 champs for the cougs in 2002?

If you think the high school coaches slurping the UW coaches while hating the WSU coaches isn't something to be concerned about, then you probably have no idea what you are talking about.
I don't. Kids are going to go where they want to go and where they think they are going to play, not somewhere based on their HS coach talking shit (which is what he's doing).
Curious whether anyone knows how UW manages to not piss off all these coaches (or so it seems; could just be that it's out there, too, and I'm not hearing about it). Is it because UW is taking more of these programs' players as walk-ons, it has assistants give them some face time (since it's much easier to do for them) or other staff members sending their players letters regarding "interest," these coaches have more of an expectation that they can get WSU to offer their Sun Belt- and Big Sky-destined players than they do with respect to UW, the coaches have greater misgivings about being out there criticizing the UW staff on social media, or something else?
Could just be that our coaches are, in fact, just blowing off these guys or interacting with them and being idiots. We certainly heard that about Leach and all know the story there, but part of the jawboning from Rolo was that he was going to recruit more in-state. Guess the interview process should have asked him whether he or his staff were going to be morons, too.
