It's June 21. Exciting week ahead

Don't bet heavily on that, not sure you would win. FWIW, I have heard in the past that the AD gives little credence to message board posters since most of them are not season ticket holders and contributors. Truth or fiction?

All I can control is what I do, and I contribute, have season tickets and attend almost all home games. I have also traveled to support some road games for over 2 decades. More than a lot of Cougars do, less than what a lot of people do. It is what it is for now.
I believe that. Although McCoy and her overpaid minions should be reading the message boards. The disgruntled and disgusted Cougs like me are exactly who she needs to listen and cater to.

I ain't taking no shit though. Season tickets for 20 years. A member of the Cougar Club (aka CAF) for many years. Season BB season tickets for about 5 years. Donated to the IPF (where's my brick?). Donated to the NIL fundraiser for BB just last year. If and when WSU Athletics (or WSU for that matter) does something that isn't F-ing stupid maybe I'll donate again. I do need to make a game this fall. But when they aren't transparent, don't show us the money and where we are, refuse to be interviewed about the recent T&F cuts, yet implore me to be a good Coug and give them money, I'm not giving a F-ing dime. When Jackrabbit Jimmy and his bunnies beat Ole Miss maybe I'll pony up.

Well said.

Your theology sucks but your logic here is solid.

Don't forget the ongoing harassment campaign to "update alumni contact information." It's actually a campaign to sell alumni directories. I've received at least 6 postcards, 4-5 e-mails, and 2 voice mails about it. None of them actually mention the directory, but once you call back and give up your information they try to upsell you (according to a friend who actually called). Me, after the 2nd postcard, I just logged into the alumni website and confirmed my information.

They've spent $1.50 (minimum) just on postage trying to contact me, plus whatever time was spent. Multiply that by the 45,000 members of the alumni association, and you hit 6 figures pretty quickly. I don't know how much these directories cost, but I'm having a hard time imagining that this actually makes any money.

If WSU cared about their student athletes or fan experience, they would have fixed things a long time ago. They'd rather be lazy than successful.

Thanks for bringing this up. I have almost called a couple of times, but didn't (thankfully). Just got yet another postcard yesterday. That's 5-6 for me too. Plus the e-mails. So they have my e-mail address, and my mailing address. Pretty sure they have my phone number (thanks for the tip on going to the Alumni website). I mean WTF? It's basically a lie. If they have your address and e-mail, you are current. If not, you won't ever get the e-mails or postcards so a waste either way.

My other complaint with it is that there used to be an electronic alumni directory through the alumni association. You could search by name, grad year, location, or what business the alumni was in, based on what they opted to share. That went away a few years ago….and now they’re trying to sell it.

No thanks.

I'll defer to your accounting and WSU expertise on this matter, but could you explain why on Earth a Sun Belt Conference also-ran deserves a full share?

Oregon and Washington were arguably more valuable than Texas State and yet the Big Ten laughed and told those two to take their half-share crumbs or get bent.

Seems like Ann McCoy and the new lady president should advise Commissioner Gold to play hardball on this one.

Pete, things like this can be about not what a team, college, person, etc, is actually worth, and but more about what they can LEVERAGE, get.

Yeah, Texas St is NOT worth a full share in the PAC 12. Everyone probably understands, gets, agrees, etc, with that.

Pete, what happens to the PAC 12, if they cant get UNLV, AF, Memphis, Tulane, Texas St, New Mexico St, Sacramento St, CANT GET ANYONE TO BE THEIR 8TH FOOTBALL MEMBER BY, BETWEEN THE 2 DEADLINES OF JULY 1, 2025(The deadline for a college to give notice that leaving to join PAC 12, that if missed, doubles, tripples, quadrupled their exit fees, and makes it much more likely that they either dont join PAC 12, or dont join PAC 12 by July 1st 2026), and the July 1st 2026 deadline that states that if not a full 8 football member conference....?

Cue up Jeopardy music... da da da da da da don... times up.

Answer is the PAC 12 is SCREWED.

Now Texas St understands this and can say you either give us a full share or enjoy being the PAC 7 in 2026, and not being a conference, and being SCREWED.

And New Mexico St, others, etc, can say, do same thing.

So eventually the PAC 12 has to give full share to 8th football member, whoever that is.

Its called BARGAINING LEVERAGE POWER PETE.

This has been explained to you before.

Great post as usual Mik

You and Loyal could end up being spot on and TX ST ends up leveraging its way to a full share. Congratulations in advance.

But perhaps the Pac-12’s door is still cracked for a last-second addition of Sacramento State at a steep discount? Seems unlikely the Division I council would turn down Sac’s request to move up if the Hornets have a conference to join (talk about a lawsuit),

Maybe that’s Theresa Gold’s ace in the hole?

One way or the other, the clock is ticking ...
