Also, I’m racking up all this chipiness in sports to no fans in the stands. I feel the players don’t think anyone is watching them.

It has been a long time since we had a hoops player who responded to consistent dissing comments from the other team by dissing back, and at the same time, having the game to support that. A very long time.

When Noah runs into someone who is mouthy, he has not yet matured to the point that he can let his game do all the talking for him. He doesn't say a lot (which is why he gets away with as much as he does), but if someone hooks his arm, he doesn't let go...he waits for the other guy to let go. Same with diving for a ball that ends up in a jump call.

He will be better with more maturity, of course, but I am enjoying watching the process unfold.

I have a feeling that a stadium full of boos might have precipitated a different outcome. Sucks for us.

Does anyone have a link to a video of the flagrant? I saw it live, but had to leave the room and never saw a replay. I didn't see anything wrong when I saw it live. I'm afraid they didn't show replays later in the game as they were scared to make the Pac12 refs look bad

He made a basketball play going to the basket, not clearing out with his elbows.

It was a garbage call and everyone knows it.

What I thought that I saw was him receiving the ball and whirling toward the basket. He made big body contact. I could not tell if the defender had his feet planted, or not. I did not see his elbow make contact with the face/head of the defender; it looked like a couple of inches of clearance; though the defender staged a complete soccer flop after the body contact. I kept asking my wife if there was another camera angle, because the one they kept replaying did not show anything that would remotely merit a flagrant. After their coach complained, the the officials reviewed, and called a flagrant when no foul had been called in real time. The broadcast booth bemoaned the covid requirement that they not be courtside, because if they were, they would have a clue about what was happening. The broadcasters seemed to have no more idea than I did re: what was done that would merit a flagrant foul.

That's the other part that doesn't make sense. If it was a flagrant foul it occurred before he made the basket so wipe it off would have made sense. I believe with the TV crew off the floor the officials aren't able to come to them and explain the call any longer. It just was all strange.

Just wanted to stop by as an AZ fan and tell you guys how impressed I was with the job Kyle Smith has done. Obegidi is a really good, athletic player and Boton is a real scorer.

We were very lucky to get a victory and only because you guys clanked a bunch of FT’s. Your defense is legit and I think you guys are a real good bet to get to the dance this year and beyond.
