Former Texas St. starting point guard is listed on the roster. This likely means two things: 1) Tony Miller isn't a scholarship player. 2) Shead should be able to gobble up plenty of minutes, which should keep us from forcing players like Williams, Rapp, and Rodman to take more minutes than they are ready for.

Like the move.

He's been out there since late March. Looks like a pass first type point guard but can shoot. Started at Cal-Poly before going to Texas State of the Sun Belt:

>"Jaylen Shead was the unsung hero of the team in his role as a true point guard. Leading the team in assists, he was able to facilitate and help the star players around him shine. With a high basketball I.Q. and lockdown defense, Shead might have been the most important tool for this team. This past year, Shead averaged 7.9 points per game, shot 44 percent from the field, and averaged a little under 5 assists a game."

I believe he had 4 boards a game as well.

As another grad transfer, Shead can bridge the gap for a single season, allowing the younger players to develop. Probably a good exchange for Ali since he seems to be a better creater & distributor. Likely a better defender, too.

In other transfer news, Isaiah Wade is headed for D-II Central Oklahoma.

Looks like a nice addition to the team. Maybe they can get his brother Jamal to flip. He's a 4 star pg - 2020 Houston commit and the number 6 player in Texas.

Steal a player from Kelvin Sampson? Doubt it happens, but it would make up for Erdmann and Abercrombie.
