JDL to…Zona?

Alright seriously? GFY
In more time the stories will come out (and not fables like Brand X's hogwash that Wulff had to clean up a drug problem)

For instance did Chun change his tune once it was learned the state is on hook for any settlement from suits coming from mandate firings?

Was Dickert telling folks BS at his introductory presser when he said offense was going to be designed for JDL?

What about assistants who got the jab but weren't retained?

What role did noted Pullman hater and UA alum Megan Coughlan play?

And so on....

Some thoughts.

1) I'm disappointed that he went to Arizona and I will definitely not be a "fan".
2) Cruz has to be pissed at the coaching staff
3) I've seen a lot of rumors that de Laura went to the Sun Bowl separately from the team and had to fly from Seattle to Phoenix and drive to El Paso. Starting to feel that the detour through Phoenix wasn't as random as it first looked. If that is the case, I hope de Laura washes out of Arizona and ends up playing for Honolulu Community College.
4) Arizona likely has some donors putting up some NIL cash.

The whole showing up to the Sun bowl late was weird, including the detour

What ever happened to the concept of "competition" and let the better man win? If you can't recruit and sign players (Ward) to improve the team and depth without kids "taking their ball and going home," what the hell is going to happen to college team sports? It is sad state of affairs, but it is a great opportunity for programs like WSU. We will have access to players not seen since the days when scholarship limitations were first implemented, because they don't need to be buried on the depth chart anymore. However teams will need psychologists/investigators to avoid bring "cancerous attitude" into the fold.

Ok these are all questions fair enough. And I will say to you with all due respect because you didn’t come out swinging with nonsense like the other bozo…but “trying to tank the program” is just sour grapes from someone who’s completely consumed by their own political/personal beliefs to the point they want to see WSU burn to the ground. Why would Pat Chun want to tank the program? WTF is that going to do for his career? Ohio State alums going to be hiring a guy who torpedoed WSUs football program?
Pat Chun is a far better AD than Rolo was a coach. Period. It’s not even a debate. You don’t have to agree with everything Chun does but this dramatic BS is old.

Las thing about JDL and then I'm done with him. Like a lot of people on here have said, he quit at halftime. He threw a giant temper tantrum in the locker room and quit. Pissed at the offensive line, pissed at Smith, pissed at everybody, so he quit because he was always going to the portal and he didn't want to get hurt. I have no clue why he played, maybe he was trying to be a good teammate, but in the end he came out looking like an ass. It wasn't a secret we were missing 3 starting offensive linemen and 2 running backs, no clue why he even played.

He can go to Arizona and see what happens. He's got some competition. Plummer was a freshman this year, Cruz is there and another QB from South Florida, Jordan McCloud. I honestly, don't care how he does at Arizona. I won't root for him. Call it sour grapes, but I always find it odd Coug fans root for players that leave the program, but anybody that roots for JDL after his Sun Bowl antics is an odd choice IMO. Quitting on your squad isn't forgivable to me. Sends a horrible message and what's going to happen when things get tough at Arizona? He going to quit again? BTW Arizona offered Cameron Ward before us, so does he know that he's their 2nd choice?

People can speculate all they want, in the end, players and coaches have left, I hope they find what they are looking for.

As we move forward, we have a new coach, new staff, and players that are excited to be here. Let’s hope for some more recruits to fill in some holes, overall I feel the staff has been upgraded, along with some key positions, fill the holes and this will be an exciting team next year, looking forward to next season.

I hope we pound the living shit out of him. The kind of beat down where you can barely walk the next day. Nothing dirty or anything like that. Just old school, hit ‘em hard football.
This will be interesting. All the congratulatory tweets to JdL after his announcement of entering the portal saying "go be great" were from the offense except Watson. At least that's last I saw. Not a single defensive player said anything.

If he wins the job, the face off against him just may be personal to our defense in light of how the sun bowl went down - if, in fact, he did kinda bail on them in the middle of the game. Taihtsat

Just so everyone is clear about the JDL transfer, he walked out of both meetings of Rolo being fired and Dickert hired. He issued a statement about it being more than a person or team to finish the season. Dickert spoke highly of him including the building of the offense around him quote to get him to stay through bowl season. It was nothing more than fluffing him up. Ward announced an offer a couple minutes after the bowl. Same bowl JDL refused to play the second half in. Work ethic the whole time was meh. Talent is obviously there but there was a lot to this unfolding. JDL also went home to Hawaii over break while other guys stayed around. He flew back for the bowl game and then left the bowl game and flew home.

He’s young and trying to do what feels right so nothing against him. We are probably in a better spot now.

In general I agree with you but I rooted for Tay Martin At OSU. I’ll also root for kids that leave bc they are walk ons at WSU and can’t get a schollie but someone else will give them a ride. I hope Camm Cooper balls out but won’t put an ounce of energy into following his career.

Tay is an outlier for me because he left during Covid and wanted to play and the Pac-12 wasn't going to play at the time. Camm was a good teammate, stuck it out, never really got a shot, handled his business and got to take a victory lap in Hawaii. JDL pulling a Deon Burnett and expecting to get love from Cougs? Why? I won't get it, but we are the nicest fanbase in the country.

He is who I thought he was. Quitter rides off looking for another staff that will drink his charm, eat his line of bullshit and hand him a starting job. He is program shopping for enablers.

Has anyone else read Jedd Fisch’s resume on wiki?? hahahahahahahahahahaha If this is where you send your son good luck. He has something on people.

current QB roster at AZ,

Looks like Cruz, McCloud and Plummer all have game experience, maybe JDL helps the #20 recruiting class, but they still have a long ways to go. not sure what the HC is selling there, but something doesn't add up from 1-11 to a #20 class. Coffee Cups?

I don't really want to get too much into who tweeted what, but I wonder what Travell Harris has to say about all this. With all the players sitting out, transferring before the bowl, whatever happened at half time, he's out there running the GD wildcat, trying to win a bowl for us.

I have a ton of respect for everything all the players did last year, but Harris has kind of put himself on another level of Cougdom to me.

He was a pro ever since he stepped on the field as a frosh.

His coach is a moron and got what he asked for.

Why is his coach a moron? His body his choice, if he felt that getting the vaccine wasn't worth the money then so be it. He stuck to what he believed in and didn't sell out. I'm pretty sure Rolo DGAF if WillieThePedo (thanks Spain) thinks he's a moron.

If you can’t grasp why someone dumb enough to ask an immunologist if Bill Gates holds a patent on the covid vaccine is a moron you might have a lot more in common with him than you realize.

When JDL hit the portal I said it was best for everyone that he moved on. JDL embodied what Rolo brought to the team culturally. It's clear Morris has a guy he's comfortable with and JDL sticking around creates the possibility for a divided offense.

At the end of the day, JDL makes the occasional electric play but has a lot of maturing to do if he wants to be an elite QB. I'd rather he figure it out somewhere other than here.
e, I think what you've said is really the bottom line. JdL has a ton of potential, but there is nothing in this world so common as undeveloped potential. He may figure it out. I actually hope that he does; I figure I owe him that for the whole Apple Cup show, including the flag at the end. And he has been fun to watch when he wasn't injured or in a snit. But, as you say, when much of the development involves maturity, it is just as well that he learns that stuff elsewhere. Less stress on everything WSU to have someone more mature in place, and we seem to have picked up both some coaching staff and QB upgrades if maturity is a measure of the comparison. Now let's see it play out.

Guys, seriously, come on. Tons of threads for this fight already. Please take it there and leave this thread to discuss JDL's transfer. Thank you.

He can ask whatever question he wants to whoever he wants. What are you a commie?

As Patchin would say go pound sand.

Who/whom is saying that something happened at H time in El Paso? Cooach D said the medical staff noted that JDL needed x-rays….is that not what happened. No rumor need be inserted here.

People love a juicy story/conspiracy theory man. Can’t help themselves- even when said player was visibly walking off the field with a limp and the coach who doesn’t have to say anything about a medical situation confirms that’s what it was.

Does a severe brain cramp qualify as a "medical situation"?
