Rolo’s tweet would seem to indicate he’s not pleased about it. Not sure if it’s directed at Theo or whoever leaked it.
Late to the party but all you missed is some silly whining.Very late to the party here...
As a journalism major...my question to the group here is Theo is supposed to hold that information at bay? Unless Rolo discussed with him and asked to hold that information, he's just doing his job, no?

According to Theo, it looks like the Cougs will be starting a true freshman QB
Yea saying anything negative about the precious Zags here is blasphemy....especially in the media.Mark Few handles the Spokane media exactly the same.

He isn't a marketing wing of the athletic program.
Unfortunately, Rolo made the initial mistake of publicly stating he had made a decision on the starting QB– something he's blamed himself for. Once that happened, you could expect reporters to hound players & others close to the program for the name, which I assume Theo has been doing. Perhaps Rolo asked Theo and others to keep things quiet if they found out but they aren't obligated to do so. However, as a result, the coach will probably be less inclined to trust the reporter. If Theo plans on being a WSU beat reporter in the future, he may find that relationship with Rolovich to be a little icy.
Glad Cougar
Naming the starter could mean naming the quarterback who plays the first quarter. Wouldn't it be interesting to play 2-3 quarterbacks in order to clarify the matter?Personally, I think Rolo knew exactly what he was doing by mentioning it publicly. This isn't his first rodeo as a head coach, and he was also a starting D1 QB. He's very familiar with how the media operates.
I think he wanted to get things swirling internally, because, as he said, this is a year where we're going to need to utilize more than 1 QB; something he's very comfortable doing.

And when that happens, Rolo will post thisHe's free to get cut off from information too.
Probably a hair sniffer as well.

Yep. But isn't that sort of cancel cultural like? But yes, Rolo has every right to limit his access.
I'm telling ya, the next time I see Theo.....I'm just going to grab him by his Pu$$y in broad daylight on 5th ave in Spokane!!Probably a hair sniffer as well.
Well said Eleven. What Theo just did is damned close to publishing the playbook in the newspaper. Some things in sports just shouldn’t be reported.

Back in the days of Grantland Rice and Red Smith, the ballplayers and the sports writers bought each other drinks and chased skirts together. But it never showed up in the newspaper.
Maybe if WSU tries a modern open arms approach with Blanchet, Theo and even the pretty young GU grad on KREM the coverage would be more favorable? Couldn't hurt.
