Jordan Simone Fired for Being Critical of the Herm

I get it though. He pretty much works for the university. Brink just can’t come out and say what he didn’t like about Rolo and what he doesn’t like about Dickert.

If I remember correctly, Geno had a brother that played at ASU and was their broadcaster until he was critical of Herm

Jordan actually walked on at WSU and played special teams as a freshman before ending up at ASU.

And he became an all conference player . ASU got two of our players who did well there.. Demetrius cherry played well there as well

When you takes their money, you takes their opinion. If you don't share their opinion, then you at least don't publicly disagree. Goes with the money. Always been thus, and always will be thus.

It's been a long time, but I didn't remember Cherry making it to school. I thought he was a non-qualifier and ended up at a JC. I could be not remembering correctly. Either way, he never went to WSU, or was there for the blink of an eye. WSU got the better of everything, as that was about the time Leach took over and WSU was way more successful than ASU.

Graham had some initial success, and I just found it interesting he would get Simone on the field when he was an afterthought compared to his brother. But Graham burned out quickly and we got to enjoy Leach for the next how many years until he departed.

Yes, it is easy to forget how Graham was briefly the flavor of the year.

For a short period after those 2011 hires (Mora, RichRod, Graham, and Leach) were brought on board, it looked like those other schools got proven, successful winners and, according to some here and on Brand X and in other fora, WSU had been defrauded. That reversed abruptly and extensively. Most of it had to do with the situations these coaches walked into.

Trashing your employer or client in public, is usually a career limiting move, regardless of what business you are in. When it comes to talking about others, employees, employers, customers, four words of advice come to mind “think before you speak” . Unfortunately too many people today, in all phases of life want to be the first to be heard. So today we have lot of speaking and lot less thinking.

He's a analyst. Its his job. They just got trounced by us, which I'm sure was part of the ire/ disappointment because they were supposed to be the ones doing the trouncing. ASU was doing that odd thing with Herm coaching but not coaching and there were many critics of it from the start, so its odd to me why he would be singled out for not supporting what obviously wasn't working.

And NOW that we know they were wholesale cheating with recruiting, he wasn't wrong at all.

Good summary. During the Soviet era, the party newspaper was called Pravda (truth). It was supposedly reporting Izvestia (the news). The common expression from the Russian on the street was, "there is no Pravda in Izvestia". Analysts who are paid by one team are in a similar boat. They either paper it over to one extent or another, or they say nothing, or in extreme cases they simply lie about it. Those are the choices. If they actually speak the truth as they see it and it does not conform to the party line, they are off to Siberia.

You have to know who is signing your pay check. Even if he is not a an employee of ASU, his employer has a contract with ASU. If it needs to be brought to peoples attention, you have an off the record with a local reporter. Or bring it up yourself and in this case run the risk of losing your job.
