Kangaroos

Weird seeing an animal like that just stand there. Most animals in the wild have some fear of people, or the instinct to attack if threatened. Kangaroos are strange. Wtf was he doing with the dog?!

Side note, do kangaroos put other kangaroos on ignore?

They live in a place where just about every living thing can kill you. Why would they be afraid of humans?

Those freaking claws - damn. That guy was lucky get away with just a minor scratch.

their main weapon is their toes. They do a double front kick while "sitting" on their tail and their toes are like knives.

That Kangaroo must have been dipping into Brian Bosworth's stash. He was jacked!

I’d do the same for my dog by pulling that thing off of him but then I’d run - that guys lucky he didn’t get disemboweled by Roo when he took a swing at it.

I dunno seems like most animals are. Most black bears you encounter in the wild will turn tail and book it up the hill as soon as they see you, when they could rip you apart if they wanted to. Maybe they face the barrel of a gun more often than roos do in the outback and that’s why 🤷. Point being seems like ALL animals will either take off when confronted or F you up out of instinct…not just stand there with a look on their face like “you got a problem punk?”

Question remains. What was Roo doing or planning to do with the dog? Just a submission move cuz it got too close?

Impossible to know but your guess is as good as any. No telling what it might have ultimately done to the dog - maybe just let it go or maybe tries to eff it up - kangaroos are unpredictable.

I saw another video where the Roo did this to another dog. Apparently Roos are prey to dingos there...so that is how they defend themselves. They try to make it to the river and then drown the Dingo.

And while those weren't Dingos, the Roo still perceives it as a threat

I have always wanted to go to Australia. My Dad did too, but never made it. I used to watch this Aussie show called Mcleod's Daughters. Yes the daughters and friends were the best part. The show was set in South Australia or New South Wales. In one episode a male lead was wearing a WSU shirt!

What is interesting is their gun laws are soooo strict. Yeah that happened as a result of several mass shootings in the 90's. Handguns are damn near banned. And that was several mass shootings over the course of years, not several every week like in the USA. So with all these deadly critters roaming around, I'm not so sure about going there.

Plus they seem to like to put dogs in headlocks.

I was thinking I would rather have a gun in that situation.

Lot of stuff in Australia I don’t know a gun would be much use for. Spiders and snakes?

Some of those snakes, I'd rather have a gun. I don't want to get close enough for a shovel. For the spiders, it might be overkill.

Those spiders are large and very fast. I'm thinking of the ones that jump like they were out of the Alien movie. Maybe a shotgun?

Another difference with their gun laws - after every one of their mass shootings, they actually implemented measures to directly address them. No "thoughts and prayers."

Also, for the most part, their "mass shootings" were dwarfed by ours. Their high profile ones from 1985-95 killed 7, 7, 8, and 5. Those don't even make headlines in the US anymore. Port Arthur was their big one, with 35 dead. After that, they started implementing gun buybacks and implemented tighter national controls and registration. They haven't had anything that meets the current definition of "mass shooting" since.

I have a sawed off (but still legal) 20 gauge. Perfect for snakes. Dad had a single shot .410 pistol. Barrel was about a foot long. My POS brother snagged it when my Dad died. That would work for giant spiders and snakes.

WhT do they eat? Source of protein? Gorillas have a plant based diet and are jacked, too.

Two points:

Their government also acted like complete totalitarian thugs during covid.

The left throws out traditional religion and the idea of paying for our sins via God's judgment, and in the same breath acts shocked of the consequences of more crime and mistreatment of our fellow humans. Square that circle.
