Cougs play their first preseason game Friday night against LC State. I expect everyone will see some playing time. It was in last years first game against Azusa Pacific that Hawk went off for 21 pts and 18 rbs and was a starter from that time on.

Fans should be able to see who the top 8 players will be. The competition at the PG is the one i am most interested at the moment

I'm definitely interested in PG and how Clifford and Izundu look inside. All the new guys in general though but wondering how Franks progresses early on.

One poster here says that Franks is not ready for PAC 12 play. I saw ken's comments on Franks and he sounds like Franks is ready to go. I guess that we will see this Friday night

Clifford Injured Do you know what is wrong. Just the thing we need to start the season.

Don't forget that the rotation is always longer in the non-conference schedule and is tightened up once conference starts. Plus, what is the top eight now and by conference may be different, as players improve and others disappoint.

I would hope that this is the case. I would like to see the jucos and Franks get more playing time as the season progresses. That would mean that the marginal players are being replaced by more talented players. That will also mean that the cougs are improving game by game.

Best example I remember was Tony's first year as head coach. Mac Hopson starts the season & plays most of OOC at the point. Switch is made to Kyle Weaver with Rotchestie and Koprivica getting time at the point with Rotchestie taking it over especially after Koprivica injured knee.

Hopson had a few nice moments but didn't play much the rest of the way. I pretty much feel the point guard spot was always Rotchestie but he was coming off a knee injury.

Any idea what the injury is or how long he is expected to be out?

Strained knee and according to Coach EK in presser coming along well. Seeing Dr on Monday doing pool and couple of more weeks. Probably bring him back slowly.

That s good. it will allow Izundu to get plenty of playing time. He will be rusty as he has really not played for two years. It will make the team stronger in the long run.Clifford will be back in two weeks which is good news.
