Lawsuit(s) mediation tomorrow May 19

I’d be interested to see what those sports scjolarships are.
If you are so interested, look a few of them up yourself., Laz-y-Boy.

You'll see some random women's (and corresponding men's) sports. Water Polo, Diving, I dunno. Although I have no problem with WSU staying as lean as necessary in terms of offered sports. The one thing that makes me wonder is how all these low revenue schools can afford to field a D-1 FB team AND have more sports than WSU on way less money? Admin bloat perhaps? Again, I dunno.

Hey, Dumbasski, you arent gonna find out how much scholarship money each kid gets on the internet.

Fcking dummy.

There are some interesting ones. I have no idea how scholarships work for water polo (which a handful of teams have), men’s or women’s rodeo (which about half a dozen have), or women’s flag football…which I think only one team had.

They are most likely not full scholarships. The $$$ would be split up. Some kids get more, some get less. Some schools have more $$$ into the sport than others…

A lot of scholarships are split up to afford distributing the money further.

Oh, my bad. you did say scholarships, not sports. No need to throw out insults. How Gibby-like.

Here's the new NCAA limits for all sanctioned sports. Pretty big changes, and who knows what levels various schools had or have set, although I'm sure some research could ascertain this. In Baseball for instance, I doubt the Cougs will be able to increase schollies from 11.7 to 34. But I digress.

Boy. After a morning in bed, I step out for awhile with my young GF and the insults rage.

Gibby - you are pretty obsessed about that wallet after 20+ months. What is with you? You are kind of a weird guy. At least that's the rumor at the gym in Spokane.

Biggsy - hey I side or sympathize with you often. Why the hate and insults? The Emotionally Strong but also Sensitive Loyal One is a little hurt. I now need my honey to console me. Can't wait. :)

No. Nice try. Tall and just right.

How big are you these days? The one time we met, you were pushing 300. Most of it in the belly. Bet you are 400 by now. You and your pal Ed should have a belly Suma wrestling contest.

So that would be 324 lbs. OK.

Back to topic, still crickets on mediation. Still hard to believe there hasn't been some leak from somebody. Like the checks due tomorrow. Does some A/P clerk know that they were cut? June 1 looms large. Or maybe it is a hopeless stalemate and they just don't want to admit that they have given up and all have gone home.

I guess I am still a little bit premature to start naming every thread "I told you so", but we are getting there. Remember all these months when you all were saying we had plenty of time, all was well, etc. etc. ? How ya feeling now that it is May 31? As Khan said, "I spit on you".

There is nothing of significance to disclose.

Is there any indication whatsoever that Money Bags Network is standing by, waiting with a checkbook, for an outcome from mediation that will help WSU compete moving forward?

Easy to find when you simply use the internet effectively.

- All Sports Become Equivalency Sports: All NCAA Division I sports will be classified as equivalency sports starting in the 2025-26 academic year. This means coaches can distribute scholarships as full or partial awards, providing greater flexibility to allocate financial aid across their rosters.
- Roster Limits: Each sport will have a maximum roster size, and schools can offer scholarships (full or partial) to any number of athletes up to that roster cap, depending on their budget.

### Sports Affected:
Since all NCAA Division I sports will be equivalency sports under the new rules, partial scholarships can be offered in every sport, including those previously classified as headcount sports. The table below lists the proposed roster limits for select sports, all of which will allow partial scholarships:

So the question now is, have they increased the scholarship limit, or just the roster limit? For football, Is it 85 scholarship equivalents across 115 players, or is it 115 scholarships?

Either way is bad for WSU. But 115 scholarships is worse for 80% of teams.

WSU would be better off - and the overall level of competition would be better - if the roster limit was 70.

There was PLENTY of Time, and all things PAC 12, SHOULD have been well. It's just that Teresa Gould FCKED UP, SCREWED UP everything, and the extremely low hanging fruit so bad.

If Oliver, or a competent commish had been hired for the PAC 12, that commish would have not merged with MWC, gotten the MWC 5 + UNLV + Memphis + Tulane + USF + Gonzaga + St Mary + would have gotten Octagon sooner + would have gotten about a 13.5 mil per team per year 2026 media deal and everything would have worked out just fine.

The decision to not merge with Hawai, Nevada, New Mexico, was the RIGHT DECISION. It, the plan, the process, everything was NOT executed, done properly, and everything was FCKED UP by Teresa Gould.

Why do I find and paste relevant links that answer these questions if no one reads them? At least I expected better from you 95. Link (again!) below. Oh and make sure to keep visiting my new home board :).

So at least for FB the roster limit and schollie limit are now the same - 115 oops edit: 105. You don't have to offer 115 105 of course. Other sports? PER THE LINK I ALREADY POSTED, new scholarship limits vs roster limits for all sports look a lot like they are the same (For example, 34 for Baseball).

Did you get out of jail early this weekend?

Believe it's still proposed. Change would be up to 105 for the 25-26 academic year.

Same link that the Mighty Loyal One has posted twice today. And he corrected the 115/105 item.

But glad to see you are right on top of things today. Me too! :)

I don’t bother scrolling back through very much here. There’s usually enough lunacy in the last 4-5 posts

This forum has the best food fights of any that I visit. And I visit OSU, WSU, BSU, FSU, CSU, USU, and SDSU message boards on a weekly basis, and nobody has food fights like this place.

At all of those message boards, no one, and I mean no one, cites "The Monty Show" as a source. Figure it out.

If the 5 schools leaving the MWC for the PAC-12 haven't paid their $5K "leave the MWC" fee yet, then it's because they don't want to give up their MWC voting rights until the last minute.

San Diego State's athletic director is not panicking about the pace of things being done. I snoop the BSU, FSU, CSU, USU, and SDSU message boards regularly and there's no serious discussion at any of them about returning to the MWC.

Oregon State has in Scott Barnes a very, very talented athletic director who is at the top of his game. If Teresa Gould is screwing up the rebuilding of the PAC-12, then I have full confidence Barnes would do whatever he can to have Gould pushed aside.

The only thing that could stop Barnes from disposing of Teresa Gould is the idiot leadership at Washington State University. Beavers & Cougars are equal partners in all of this.

p.s. Been reading a Texas State message board and their fans are still hoping for PAC-12 membership.

I’ll defend the WSU leadership slightly, only because the president is new and is now dealing with what’s effectively an 8% budget cut in basic operations. Maybe more.

Did you go to school past grade school? Serious question.

You are beneath every poster here.
I’m not the one here who believes Trump caused steel prices to rise 250% because his sole supplier told him so and who convinced him the steel he purchases isn’t tracked by the market.

BTW, do you have any pictures of the boat your steel supplier owns? I’ll bet it’s sweet!

The braintrust at Brand X seems confident WSU's new lady president will be an upgrade over Dr. Schultz as far as athletics goes.

Maybe this is where the administration pushes for student fees to make up any shortfalls? A lot of schools rely on those as a revenue source

Agree.
When Barnes and Chun were together in a press conference, Barnes’ superiority was very apparent. He exposed Chun as the inept poser that he’s always been.
Dave - I threw up my mouthful of Coors Light at THIS. Your guy is a goon. With regards to idiot leadership at WSU, no arguments there.

Last time I disparaged Charlie Chun, I was roasted on this site. I'm sure Gibby has the receipts...

Well Teresa still FCKED it up, made it harder then it had to be, as it shouldn't have had to goto the last hour, minute, second to give official notice before the June 1st deadline.

Teresa ALMOST Killed the PAC 12. Still could KILL the PAC 12 if she doesn't get 8th football member by July 1st, 2025 deadline, when exit fees to leave a conference and Join PAC 12, would double, which would make getting a 8th football member by July 1st 2026 a extremely less likely, if don't get 8th football member by July 1st, 2025.

My guess on what happened, is that either Teresa Gould hasn't told the MWC 5 about a 8th football member in back pocket, an or media deal in back pocket, or both in back pocket, if 1 or the other or both in back pocket locked up, or they are close to getting a 2026 media deal, an 8th football member, but don't have them in place yet this close to the July 1st 2025 deadline, and that scared the MWC 5 into waiting til the last hour, minute, second to give official notice before June 1st deadline.

And that, those things probably is what scared Scott Barnes into approaching Big 12, ACC and asking them again, recently if Ore St could join one of either Big 12, ACC, which got told no.

And that also probably scared the MWC 5 into waiting til the last.

Now that the MWC 5 gave official notice to MWC, A reverse merger is probably off table, unless Teresa, PAC 12 fail to get a 8th football member, and 2026 media deal by July 1st 2026, which is the next deadline to be worried about.

I suspect tho, that the PAC 12 has at least Texas St, New Mexico St, semi locked up in back pocket, and the same for a 2026 media deal, and that Teresa, PAC 12, MWC 5, everybody, etc, will wait until the last day, hour, minute, second, before the deadline again, that's on July 1st 2025.

It looks like the Monty You Tube show, and the 2 articles I read, were both semi partially wrong and semi partially right about some of the things that happened.

Its clear that Scott Barnes did ask Big 12, ACC again because he is worried, scared, etc.

And its clear that SDSU AD Wicker was getting extremely frustrated, worried, concerned, scared, etc, over how long its taking.

And its clear that the MWC 5 were frustrated, concerned, worried, scared, etc, and that's why they waited til the last, then gave official notice.

But Monty and the 2 articles were wrong about the MWC 5 not giving notice by June 1st deadline, and wrong about MWC 5 going back to MWC, and wrong about the PAC 12 dying by, on June 1st deadline, and probably wrong about the PAC 12 supposedly probably not having 8th football member, Texas St, New Mexico St, 2026 media deal semi locked up in back pocket.

The hole is too big for fees to fill…and the students already pay a lot of fees.

Pete, sometimes I don't know whether to laugh or cry over your posts. You are not actually a Coug are you? If you were, you would know that the student fees directed towards Athletics are almost $1M/year. Not counting the sports passes. And that the amount of these fees have been a point of contention since I was a student.

95 - I saw a chart elsewhere showing WSU and OSU Athletics revenue sources. If I recall, WSU's student fees were almost $1M/year, as noted above, and OSU's were - I think - $2.75M/year. Quite the disparity, which doesn't argue with your point but is kind of interesting IMO.
