Don't know if you guys heard this interview, but it gave me a new appreciation for how good Rome is. I've heard CML on with the local hacks and the Pullman guys and Spokane guys and most of the time is it drier than unbuttered toast - they don't know how to engage him, talk off of a script, point to point.

Without gushing on and on I'll just say it was one of the better interviews I've ever heard with CML, to the point that it will probably be one of the ones that Rome and the clones reference all the time.

Great job Rome and great job CML.

BTW, they talked zero Cougar Football. Take that for what its worth...

I don't dislike Leach, but I absolutely hate how every interview he does has nothing to do with the football team. I don't even necessarily blame him, because usually the people asking the questions only care about what he has to ramble about and give zero effs about WSU football.

I don't know, hearing him talk about football always seems to be the same thing: coach speak for "we suck again, keep your expectations low."

Of course, I don't know if Leach is always "humble" or if he has ever come out and said (at TT, perhaps) "we're looking great and we expect to kick hell out of the competition and compete for the league title."

He's more interesting than the football team at the moment, and I'm sure if they ask him questions about WSU football he will gladly answer them. I think that's part of why the media likes him so much is that he doesn't just go out there and say the same things every other coach says. He will talk about whatever anybody wants to talk about, and that is a good thing because it draws interest.

He spends most of his time every day answering questions about the football team at WSU to the spokesman, and local media. Yesterday there were clips of him answering questions as there were just about every day of camp. Leach lets the person asking the question go wherever they want.
