Ok, I'm not a big Chun fan, but I will give him credit for this communication. He also mentions suicide prevention month. By saying they can't make derogatory comments about officiating, he is basically making a derogatory comment (kind of like CML did when he said he couldn't comment but would if he could). So good for both of them.

Although at $650,000/year, I probably would have said something publicly. Go ahead and fine me.

Conference Policy
Last week we received many questions regarding the officiating at our football game. All Pac-12 personnel, including the President, our coaches and myself are prohibited from oral or written communications regarding officiating matters of any nature except with the conference office. We may not make derogatory public comments on officiating in the media, on radio or television shows, at booster group events, in press releases or other institutionally published materials, or under any conditions when their comments may become public. Let me just assure you that we are in regular contact with the conference on any controversial calls.

I have an idea for you Pat. How about you address the well-known poor officiating with President Schulz lobbying for the removal of Larry Scott.

I am fine with how they are handling it “within the rules” but still saying subtly (yeah we know it was bullsh*t) is the best they can do.

Chun is doing well since he’s been here he still is very new. The big thing is raise money, create opportunity, and keep building.

Define "doing well". And don't include the increase in CAF donations that are attributable to Gropesser.

I’m curious why you are already not a PC fan? He hasn’t been on the job that long and already he’s promoting university athletics better than I’ve seen from any other AD. He’s not going to change funding or deficits over night. He might prove innefective over time who knows but give the dude a chance.

He hasn’t screwed up what we got going. He gets an A for not rocking the vote. He’s moved us forward with the baseball plan.

He hasn’t had any major developments yet but I am watching how he handles the basketball program. That will be his first true test.

Having fun with colors tonight.

Tron - really? He hasn't screwed anything up yet, (debatable sez Jill Osur) and he came in at the end of the Baseball thing and you give him credit? So he has done nothing.

90 - really? Promoting Athletics at a level never seen? how? with the doofy mailing? What specifically has he done that makes you say that?

Not screwing up a good thing we got going is decent. I don’t expect him to walk in hit the ground running and just reap millions. He has to get acclimated.

Well which is it? To date, neither. And he is no longer "new".

Edit: And to be clear, this thread started with me giving Chun some credit.
