Lose one gain one......

Glad to have Noah join the program. Would rather not lose Cannon and I'm curious what has led to his decision to enter the portal. He seemed to embrace Smith and vice-versa. I wonder if it is somehow connected to Chance Moore's situation.

A chance I suppose:D

This seems pretty positive. A 3 star kid from Seattle. Not like we are going to take over Puget Sound, but the coach must have showed something the young man liked. Welcome aboard.

Not Surprised one bit. Noah Williams is GUY WILLIAMS WHO STARRED AT WSU, played in NBA, etc, son.

That combined with Noah Williams being interested in WSU doing 1 official visit, 1 unofficial visit.

Combined with Smith, and staff being good coaches, with ties to Portland, westside, etc:

All those things combined, is why Noah William should be considered almost, practically LOW HANGING FRUIT TO BE PICKED, and almost, practically should be considered a almost practically a SLAM DUNK to get him.

Yeah Sure its NOT a GUARANTEE, but still should be LIKELY, PROBABLE to get him.

And so because of that, not surprised Noah Williams committed.

Disappointed to see Cannon enter the portal. I’m not exactly sure what he’s going to do. I thought it was established he already used a redshirt but maybe he gets a waiver with the coaching change?

That’s great news. Guy Williams is one of the top-5 players in program history. We needed someone like this to inject a positive vibe back into the program.

He qualified out of HS and has a RS year available. Same for Moore, though he needs to go the JC route.

I see. I didn’t think it was a qualification issue with Cannon but that he didn’t play his first year. Wish he was sticking.

Cannon still has a redshirt year to use then play 2yrs after that. He will be a graduate transfer candidate in 2yrs. Moore still has his redshirt year and could transfer to another D1 to sit all next year. Or he could go Juco and play then have 2yrs. Doubt anyone D1 takes him after 2 schools in 1year but if he went that route then he would have 3 to play after redshirting next year

good trade? seriously? Cannon was going to be a starter and maybe have a chance at most improved player next year. Would think he had a real shot to be a all conference player his senior year. Williams is a nice get, mainly because his dad played here! If Williams wasn't from Seattle and his dad hadn't played here then he wouldn't be in the discussion. Hes not a PG by the way. But his value is he can play and defend multiple positions and seems to be pretty tough. But to say good trade is very questionable?

I'm pretty sure Ava was referring to Chance Moore leaving and Noah Williams coming aboard. Cannon had not been mentioned yet in this thread when Ava posted his comment.

I really wanted to retain Cannon, along with Elleby, Kunc, Pollard and Robinson. Add James and you have a respectable starting 5 at Day 1.

This thead was about Chance.not Cannon. Noah Williams is listed as a SG, a SF, and only Verbal Commits has him as a PG. Guess I would list him as a wing. He is, however, much more than just a nice get.

This is something that the former staff only got after being in place 4 years and Noah is head over heels better than many. Rated 4 Star by ESPN as a SG. 17.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game as a Senior.

That is a player.

69 is also wrong about Isaac Bonton.

Isaac Bonton is one of the higher rated JC guard transfers.

Scored 21 ppg. 5 rebounds per game, 4.5,5.5 Assist per game. 2 steals per game. 84% from freethrow line. 43% from field. 37.5% from 3 pt range.

Numerous Awards, Accolades.

6 ft. 3 in. Very Athletic. Slashes, Drives, Beats off the dribble, finishes at the rim. Good Ball Handler.

Probably best JC transfer WSU has had since either Terrence Lewis, from Sampson days, Shamon Antrum from Eastman days, Aden from Bone days.

But according to 69, El C, Isaac Bonton, Noah Williams, are not as good, suck, etc, compared to Chance Moore who supposedly while supposedly better then Isaac Bonton, Noah Williams, is also not as good.

Basically anything 69, EL C can say, do to knock Smith's players, Smith.

No Credibility in my, other eyes.

LMAO at 69, El C

what I find funny is when Moore decided to come here there were people that were so excited about Ellerbe and Moore being a very good tandem. But since I knock all the recruits that are incoming let me say this. Time will tell with everyone of the recruits. Same people claiming im trashing recruits were same people trashing last staff recruits and they were basically the same players. Kuany Kuany, Caleb Grill, James Hasmpshire, Ryan Murphy, Daron Henson etc. Correct me if im wrong but on this board didn't people say Moore was the first 4 star recruit to come to WSU? In any case new staff better get some size cause your going to need way more then Pollard.

If Chance Moore was a 4 star, and I question that, unless it comes from anyone besides EL C/69, or unless proven, he was not the first, and doubt anybody was saying that.

4 star recruits at WSU

Guy Williams

House

Thats Raveling

Under Sampson

Seltzer

Terrence Lewis

Tony Harris

Isaac Fontaine

Under Eastman

Dominic Ellison

Hendrickson

Isaac Fontaine

Under Tony Bennet

Klay Thompson

Under Bone

Que

Ike

Isabell

Under Kent

Chance Moore(Kent's last year as coach), if he was a 4 star

Maybe Elleby, not sure, dont think so

Maybe Wade Cannon, not sure, dont think so

Otherwise NONE NO 4 stars under Kent

Under Smith

Isaac Bonton, Noah Williams

Smiths first class of Isaac Bonton, Dion James, Noah Williams, Rapp, Henson is already 3,4,5 times better then Kents first class of Dunbar, Jackie Davis, etc
