The new refs just don’t care about letting the players decide the game.
The Creighton call was a good call if you are going by the letter of the law. The "phantom" touch was strong enough to push the shooter out of balance. If you want to go by the wrong method of "no blood no foul" at the end of the game, then there is an argument to be made for letting it go.

I was glad to see all those fouls called on Timme, and thought they were actually fouls "By the letter of the law". A bit of karma on him possibly for all the blatant hooks he got away with all year long?

You guys seem to think I believe the T was right or the timing correct.

I just lived with the new mentality referees for a dozen years and it ain't your WWII and Korean war vets who actually played the game with any proficiency like you grew up with. Which is also why I lost my mind more than a few times on ticky tack crap.

It's a mindset of control and looking pretty to the higher ups. They can cite the rulebook chapter and verse but their ability to 'feel' the flow of the game and the impact they have on it...nada, zip, zero.

My opinion is that the game was very poorly refereed. Having said that games today are, for the most part, pretty well refereed. Gone are the days of Dave Libbey, Richie Ballesteros, Charlie Range et.al who blatantly cheated.
