Okay, it should be Lucey, but what the heck. I just was looking at the signees on wsucougars.com and looked at the bio of the Squalicum RB. Wanted to check it cuz my buddy from Bellingham said he was a real beast. Interesting nugget I saw in it was that the Squalicum coach was Nick Lucey, who I believe is the son of Bob Lucey, legendary coach at Curtis High School. Curtis has had a very good WSU connection over the years, and low it looks like Nick and Squalicum are carrying that on.

Bob Lucey used to come and be the guest speaker at our Pierce County Cougar Club meetings from time to time, very nice guy. IIRC, son Nick was a GA or volunteer under Mike Price way back when.

The value of using Coug relationships. Lots of connections over here. Dickert seems to be interested in keeping the relationships tight.

Didn't Mike Price say games were won in the trenches by the Fred's and Ethel's?

ROFL.. I actually know this cat. He was pretty tight with my roommate. He spent 1 year with Doba before he was shown the door and 1 year with an unmentionable name around these parts.

Very nice to hear of "Cougars from Birth", or at least from an early age!
Successful programs draw on kids who are determine to follow in their parents/family footsteps, and essentially recruit themselves. Over the years we haven't had enough of these...
