Mason looks to be heading to the Palouse

This guy s the real deal. The recruiting is going great. it looks like there may not be enough scholarships for kids who want in. Leach and the new staff members are earning their pay.

When Mason committed to usc,he spoke about Reggie Bush and how he always wanted to be a trojan.. It has not bee the case very often where the cougs beat out usc and Notre Dame for a 4 star recruit.I really do not remember that ever happening before..

Leach has loaded his stuff up with guys that flat out hustle on the recruiting trail. We haven't seen this effort in a very long time at WSU. Wulff was worried about selling his "under the radar guys." Doba and team would wait until January to fight over the scraps.

Leach truly understands the value of working hard on the recruiting trail. Our facilities are contributing to the success here, but ultimately it boils down to a kid wanting to play football for a specific coach and school.

Leach is also benefitting from nice shinny new facilities, but agree the pervious staffs didn't put this much hustle into recruiting as this staff does. They will go after any kid, regardless of stars. Leach can get into living rooms that Wulff couldn't. If you were a high school coach in LA who are you letting in, Simmons or Sturdy? Nobody on Doba's staff even recruited, it was truly a pathetic effort and Wulff's staff didn't have any real connections in LA to recruit. Ball recruited the Bay area decently, but besides that that staff didn't have anybody that could really recruit.

Very encouraged by the recruiting we're seeing, but lets be clear about something. Coaches earn their pay by winning games. The program is WAY BETTER than it was, but we need to put rubber to the road and win some games; especially home games.

Yeah, I do not think that Moos or Leach would disagree. Still, you don't build a house by starting with the roof. You have to build the foundation first. We are seeing an extremely solid foundation for the first time since Price was coach.

So, don't think we can skip steps just because you are tired of losing.

Somebody gave me excellent advice right after I got married. I was told, "One thing you can never do is tell her that you don't love her anymore. Even if you didn't mean it, or come to regret it, she will never be able to be sure again."

I think somebody at SC told Mr. Mason that they did not love him anymore.

Further, I think we had the right group of people telling him that we loved him.

Recruiting class rankings are a directional analysis of talent. Talent matters. See the Seahwaks D

Wulff also didn't believe in poaching, so he wouldn't have been recruiting Mason anyway.

I think there might be some other issues, either academics or whatever. But would be an excellent get

So do I, but I was responding to a comment that said Leach is earning his money with this recruiting class.

I don't earn money by making sales calls, I earn it by closing sales.

Totally unfair characterization of Mike Walker...the rest were the laziest

recruiters known to mankind, and Bill Doba didn't help in closing the deal.

Walker had his moments, but he was hardly a superstar recruiter.

There were a few years that he was on fire. He was bringing in many highly rated players from LA. You know who was also a great recruiter and it is this way for a lot of coaches. The head coaches wife. Prices wife was an excellent recruiter when they brought recruits into their home. Doba's wife was the same way, unfortunately she was taken from us all too soon.
