Greatest Setting- Go Dogs

Gib, maybe you knew this and maybe you didn't, but here is a factoid I've always found to be interesting.

Since the founding of Israel, there have been embargoes & counter-embargoes between those prohibited from selling to either Israel or the old Arab League, which sort of morphed into the arab portion of OPEC, and which today is an interesting collection of arab nations (some of which really do not like each other) that still co-identify when it comes to Israel. These embargoes covered virtually every kind of manufactured product.

Relevant to your post, through all of this Subaru has been the single Japanese auto maker that stuck by Israel during times when the rest felt compelled to choose the arabs.

Subaru's market share in Israel (and frankly, the affection many from there have for Subaru's in general) should not be a surprise.

Perhaps you intended the irony of Ana Mari driving a Subaru while bowing to the Israel protests earlier in the Gaza fighting. But if not, I thought it was worth a mention.

I was referring to a different stereotype of Subaru drivers.

Anybody that doesn't drive a Toyota is kind of - well - stupid. 20+ years, 6 Toyotas and counting. My current Highlander will be my last car.
There-fixed that for you. About 900,000 trouble free miles so far. :) Sold one Highlander to SIL, one Highlander to best friend, and one Highlander to best friend's friend from his church. Those also have been trouble free. Two pick-ups. Four Highlanders, only new cars I/we ever bought, 0% interest to purchase is a good thing.

We drive two Highlanders.

I assumed she drove a Subaru. Shrug emoji.

I'd fix it by substituting Lexus hybrid SUV. Over 500,000 miles since 2005 (I'm on my 4th one). The only problems have been with the German radio that the 1st one had. The current version is getting me 36.5 mpg.

Subaru's are awesome. I’m just finding this thread funny learning that our resident Muricans have spent their lives driving foreign cars. Figured y’all for Ford and Chevy diesel truck guys not Toyota hybrid guys 🤯

Subaru owners?? NTTAWWT of course.
I still doubt that Loyal gets it.

Ok Gibby you smarmy ass - what don't I get? Some lengthy acronym? WTF do you drive? I venture that it's a Prius.

90 - I'm a Chevy truck guy. My 350 Silverado is my baby. Ex-wife got the diesel.

Hopefully you put unleaded in it before you handed it over.

No I didn't. It was a sweet truck. Gently used 2011 2500, I think a 6.2 liter? Extended cab, short box. I hate diesels, but this one sold me because it wasn't loud, didn't smoke and didn't smell like diesel (like most Fords and Dodges).

But I did get the '96 so I'm copacetic. (had to use a big word there to impress our buddy Gibby) :)

Never had electric, never had hybrid. Don't be insulting me that way! :)

What, so you are bigoted against foreign units, legal immigrants? How about that! See, I am not bigoted against foreign entrants, as long as it is done legally. I have had an interesting mix of vehicles over the years. Here is the chronological rundown:
1966 Ford Galaxie 7 Litre (428ci) model, loved it, what great power!
1939 Chevy 2 door sedan, hot rod. Still have it, needs complete makeover
1968 Triumph TR250 (TR4 body, TR6 engine), still have it, needs some updating to get back on the road
1965 Ford Econoline 8 door van, used for hauling some DIY materials and my house painting supplies
1972 Mercury Cougar, wife had it when we married
1979 Saab 900 Turbo, great car in snow, first heated seats, very comfortable, wife's car, replaced Cougar
1982 Saab 900 Turbo, one for me
1986 Toyota SR5 Turbo pick-up, replaced my 1982 Saab
1992? Acura Legend for wife, dumped other Saab
1995 Dodge Grand Caravan, replaced Acura that was a dog
1998 Toyota Tacoma pick-up, still have, need to clean up and sell soon
2002 Toyota Highlander, replaced Dodge for wife, first NEW car
2008 Highlander for me
2010 Highlander for wife, replaced 2002 Highlander
2020 wife passed away, I sold 2008 Highlander
2020 Highlander bought in 2001
sold 2010 Highlander
2021 Chevy Silverado, crew cab/long bed, diesel

Along the way in last 10 years I got a 1940 LaSalle convertible and a 1932 Plymouth 4-door sedan from my dad.

That's my story and I am sticking to it! :)
