MBB: WSU vs. USD

I hate when the men's and women's games are on at the same time. Cougs up 16-2. Who is playing well? Everyone.

Cougs get big lead, stop caring and think they won, rinse, repeat. Super sloppy after the first couple minutes.

Pretty sure the coach is just going through the motions, and the team is acting the same. How can you think you win every game in the first 10 minutes and then just suck out loud the rest of the game?

Gotta get it through the players head that this is a chance for these teams to "make a statement" Gonzaga and Saint Mary's have historically gotten these shots, but OSU and WSU will get them too, and so far, we look scared to play once it gets less than a 10-point margin.

Hard fought win. Calmese took over in the second half with 22 points in the half and 27 for the game. Hopefully, Isaiah Watts comes back soon and if the rumor about Vavers coming back is true, this team is better set to finish the season. It looked to me like they had tired legs and two more good players is going to help.

Like I have said, the is a BIG, FAT UGLY BAD HOLE at the 2 , SG spot, as Tharstonsen however name spelled, Wynott, LeJuan Watts are 3's, WINGS, not 2, SG spot guards.

And Gerrit is a PG who sometimes plays 2, SG spot next to Nate as PG, but Gerrit tho good at not turning ball over, and ok passer, and ok defense, he does not drive, does not create own shot, does not score, does not shoot well, has a bad 3 point shooting percent as making, hitting 3's, and shoots a lot of airball 3's that don't even come anywhere even remotely close to hitting the rim.

WSU needs Isiah Watts, Wilson back ASAP.

WSU can survive without Vavers, because Vavers is a 3, WING, not a 2, SG, that needed to plug the hole at 2, SG spot.

Also if Coward comes back that would help a lot, but probably won't happen, and even getting Coward back as awesome as he is, he still is not the needed 2, SG that desperately needed.

And while it would be nice to get Vavers back, he hasn't played at all this season, and dont know how good or bad he will be, and he still isn't a 2, SG.

WSU desperately needs a 2, SG, as Nate can't play both SG, PG all game long, nonstop with no subs subbing for him.

WSU desperately needs Isiah Watts and Wilson back.

Until that happens WSU will continue to usually win, semi dominate, even beat teams they shouldn't, and then lay eggs, BURP, HICCUP, FART against the occasional Pacific, USD, etc, and will have the uncommon bad game.

Also WSU is now the hunted, and are getting the extremely tough ultimate best shot from bad teams who would love to beat WSU.

That combined with the UGLY HOLE at 2,SG spot, due to injuries, and the injuries, and the lack of depth, tired legs, because lots of injuries, is why these games are happening.

It's also hard enough to win on the road, even against bad teams, especially if have lots of injuries like WSU.

A win is a win is a win, especially a road win. I'll take it and be happy.

Also WSU is still 14-5, and will probably be 15-5 before another tough game.

WSU will probably be 20-11, 21-10, 22-9, 23-8, and probably either bubble out into NIT Final 6, 4, 2, or bubble into NCAA tournament as a 7th,8th,9th, 10th, 11th seed.

That's pretty dam good considering all the lots of key injuries WSU has.

Remember when Dick Bennet's team had only 1 injury that was Derek Lowe out for the whole season, WSU did HORRIBLY BAD.

WSU has 4+ Injuries that have happened.

For WSU to be 14-5, with all the lots of key injuries, is epically good coaching by Riley.

We’re playing deep practice players meaningful minutes. Gerrits and Wynott wouldn’t see the floor if Watts and Coward are healthy.

Even Wilson and Vavers were ahead of Gerrits and Wynott. To me, they look like a mentally and physically tired team. With such a short bench because of the injuries, that should not be surprising. Getting Watts back is going to be a huge shot in the arm.

To me they look like they have no focus, discipline, or game plan and get flustered at the first sign of physicality. Watts is a decent shooter and defender, but can get bullied. Have not seen Vavers enough to have an opinion. We are a soft team with good shooters who can’t play D and turnover the ball in a way I have not witnessed since high school.

If this were true, how do they have any victories?

Wasn't able to watch the game, but looking at the box score USD had the best of it except for shooting percentages. What's up with Price? After a great outing against Pacific he's been AWOL.

Playing bad teams is most of it, ut not a given seeing as we lost to one terrible team, and were getting manhandled by the second worst team in the league for much of the game.

The reason why have so many victories is playing lots of bad teams narrative is FALSE, WRONG.

WSU has 4,5,6 QUAD 1 VICTORIES, AND 1,2,3 BORDERLINE BETWEEN QUAD 1 AND QUAD 2 VICTORIES, 1,2,3 QUAD 2 VICTORIES, AND 1,2,3 BORDERLINE BETWEEN QUAD 2 AND QUAD 3 VICTORIES.

A BAD TEAM IS A TEAM THAT BETWEEN QUAD 3 AND QUAD 4, AN OR STRAIGHT QUAD 4 TEAM.

SO ABOUT 1/3 TO 1/2 OF WSU'S SCHEDULE HAS BEEN A MIX OF STRONG AND GOOD AND ABOVE AVERAGE AND AVERAGE TEAMS.

And most of those games have been lots of wins.

Only about 1/3 to 2/5 of WSU's schedule been BAD teams.

And of those only 1 of them, Pacific, was a bad loss.

Also like 1990 and me have said, there is SUPER LEGIT, VALID reason for the 1,2 BURPS, HICCUPS, FARTS, and that is:

1. 12 players left last season, leaving only 1 player who played any minutes, and 1 deep bench player who did not play.

2. Those 12 players who left were replaced by AWESOME players, that altho awesome, was going to take time for them, the team to Mesh, Jell, develop, develop chemistry, learn how to play together, win together.

3. And I said that they would beat teams they should not beat, and lose to teams that they should not lose to. And what I said is right.

4. There is a BIG, FAT, UGLY HOLE AT THE 2, SG guard spot.

5. That hole has been caused by the injuries to Isiah Watts, Wilson.

6. The injury to Cedric Coward

7. Injuries.

8. TIRED LEGS DUE TO INJURIES NO DEPTH, SCHEDULE, BACK TO BACK GAMES, ETC.

9. LACK OF DEPTH DUE TO INJURIES.

10. ONLY HAVING 6,7,8 PLAYERS AVAILABLE TO PLAY DUE TO INJURIES.

11. WSU BEING LIKE THE HOOSIERS TEAM FROM THE HOOSIERS MOVIE THAT ONLY HAD 4,5 PLAYERS, DUE TO INJURIES, FOUL TROUBLE, DUE TO BAD REFS, BECAUSE WSU HAS HAD LOTS OF KEY INJURIES, FOUL TROUBLE, BAD REFS.

12. WSU HAS HAD A TOUGHER SCHEDULE.

So because of all that combined together WSU has managed to ONLY lay 1,2 eggs, BURPED, HICCUPED, FARTED 1,2 times.

And considering all that, THATS A MIRACLE, because of the epically good coaching of Riley.

We know Mikalalas likes to play a little loose with the fact so just to set the record straight

Washington St. is in the WCC conference and has a 2-2 Quad I record, a 2-2 Quad II record, a 3-0 Quad III record, and a 8-1 Quad IV record. The quadrant system is used to identify which teams have more quality wins when it comes to Selection Sunday for the NCAA Tournament. Beating a Top-30 Team at home is considered equally difficult as beating a Top-75 Team away:
Quadrant 1: Home 1-30, Neutral 1-50, Away 1-75.
Quadrant 2: Home 31-75, Neutral 51-100, Away 76-135.
Quadrant 3: Home 76-160, Neutral 101-200, Away 135-240.
Quadrant 4: Home 161-353, Neutral 201-353, Away 241-353.
