MBK: 2019-20 Non-conference Schedule

Ok after looking at Taf's link, the reason why I was confused by what Rich Lewis had said is:

There are 1 to 3 rounds in the NWAAC playoff tournament. With a 4th round Championship round game for 1st place.

The number of rounds you play in depends on how well you do.

Big Bend Community College played in 3 rounds

Round 1: Won

Round 2: Lost

Round 3: Just barely lost by 3 points

Finished in 6th place out of about 15 to 20 to 30 playoff teams

If Rich had said 3rd Round finish, I wouldnt have been confused.

Or if Rich had said 6th in playoffs tournament.

Saying 6th place by itself made it seem like he could have been saying 6th place in regular season.

So altho my memory was off, I was pretty close, as if Big Bend had won 3rd round, may have played for championship, first place.

So BBCC finished 3rd round, 1 round, game behind, shy of 1st place championship.

Thats pretty close to what I remembered, when I misremembered BBCC going to championship game and winning it.

So I misremembered, big deal NOT.

So didnt need to make a big deal out of this.

So can, should move on.

Also the important point was NOT where BBCC finished.

The point was that BBCC did really good with, and DID RUN AND GUN.

SO NO BIG DEAL

MOVE ON

They took 6th out of 8 teams, once they lost the first game the best they could’ve done was 4th

Taf's link seemed to have shown more then 8 playoff teams. 8 playoff teams, would have broken down into 4 games × 3, =12 games, and since there was a LOT of games, seemingly more then 12 games, unless I miscounted, I am not seeing how there could not be more teams then 8

The best BBCC could have done is 2-1 record, in playoffs, as they were 1-2 in playoffs.

2-1 should have been good enough for 2nd place, and good enough to play the 1st place 3-0 team for 1st place. There was only 1, 3-0 team, the next best team, would have been 2-1, so not getting why 2-1 would only have been good enough for 4th place, and not 2nd place, playing 1st place 3-0 team, for 1st place.

So maybe you can explain.

But again, my memory was not far off, considering it was about 25 to 27 years ago, etc.

8 teams, participated in the 70’s.
Lost first game to Seattle Central, beat Skagit Valley, lost to Mt. Hood, 6th place finish.
I want to say they took the top 2-teams out of 4-conferences.

To win the championship you can’t loose period. 3 straight wins and you are the champions and finish 3-0. 2nd place is obviously the team that lost in the championship game finishes 2-1. 3rd place wins their first game, looses the second game but wins the 3rd game finishes 2-1. 4th place looses the first game then wins 2 straight finishes 2-1. 5th place wins the first game looses next 2 finishes 1-2. 6th place(BBCC) looses 1st game wins 2nd game and looses 3rd game finishes 1-2. 7th and 8th loose both games and are done finish 0-2. This is pretty much how every 8 team tourney works
