Miami withdraws

Spoken like a true CEO. Imagine if we lived in a world where CEO's could only tell the truth.... "I'm not planning for things in the future. I'm just here to squeeze out every ounce of value of our stock price so that I can cash out near the top and receive my golden parachute once the stock price plummets on my way out the door."
Oh but we do live in such a world. Big Pharma is the way, the truth and the light, friend. All Hail Albert Bourla.

Buy in or leave.

so, silly question probably but...

Do we still get paid if there isn't a game played?

I seem to remember the term "contract" thrown around, but I would imagine the Sun Bowl has their bases covered if games are cancelled.

I would hope that at least the travelling expenses would be covered, but probably not.

The sun bowl will have bigger issues than paying our travel. They've got a contract with CBS, vendors, the city, advertisers, etc. They won't be able to hold up their end of any of them without a game.

Lot of powerful internet lawyers in this thread.

There’s a provision called “force majeuer” that is common for most contracts.

Just because something doesn’t end the way intended doesn’t mean there’s legal liability.

I'm seeing CMU might be an option. Boise St is likely not able to play in the Arizona Bowl. So, CMU is likely nearby.

True. Same problem, different angle: if there's no game, there's no revenue. If there's no revenue, there's no appearance fees, no travel payments, etc....unless the bowl has insurance that will cover this....or cash reserves. I doubt they have much cash though, most of the bowls don't run at high profit levels.

I kind of like this. All game plans out the window. No video study. Just line it up and play football.
Seriously, all the hand wringing is insane. Fly your team to El Paso and play - what are they gonna do, lock you out of the stadium? Let the money people worry about greasing the palms that need to be greased, and again, Portnoy can pound sand.
