so, silly question probably but...
Do we still get paid if there isn't a game played?
I seem to remember the term "contract" thrown around, but I would imagine the Sun Bowl has their bases covered if games are cancelled.
I would hope that at least the travelling expenses would be covered, but probably not.

The sun bowl will have bigger issues than paying our travel. They've got a contract with CBS, vendors, the city, advertisers, etc. They won't be able to hold up their end of any of them without a game.

I initially thought, why not just play them? Problem is, they probably aren't on campus. Kids played their bowl and are probably home. Would probably be a nightmare trying to get all their players back on campus.
True. Same problem, different angle: if there's no game, there's no revenue. If there's no revenue, there's no appearance fees, no travel payments, etc....unless the bowl has insurance that will cover this....or cash reserves. I doubt they have much cash though, most of the bowls don't run at high profit levels.
The MAC stands to gain more than $2MM dollars from this.
