Never forget that Baylor

Never forget that the University of Washington was founded by a sex trafficker.

covered up rape and sexual assault so they could be good at football, and didn't receive the death penalty.

Kills me to pull for Kiffen, but go Rebels.

Don't forget that the basketball team was known for drug issues and illegal payments to players in the early 2000's. The drug issues culminated in the murder of Patrick Dennehy by one of his own teammates. Baylor is the one institution that everyone can feel good rooting against.

Baylor is a good Baptist school, where honor and integrity are crucial. At least they were last century....

This is one thing I can agree with you about.

I don't know if we can permanently hold them in contempt though if they have cleaned up their act. I'm not saying they have, but they aren't putting players in body bags anymore as far as I know.

The question is, can they handle success and deal with some lean years without reverting back to that stuff. It’s easier said than done, ask UW.

They’ve already proven with the rape scandal that #winning is all that matters and another scandal is inevitable. Baylor is trash.

Is it not possible that Baylor got serious and cleaned things up? They totally cleaned house. Is that not possible?
You believe Ruhle and Aranda did those things? Do they get credit for cleaning things up?

It's not directly Baylors fault, but the NCAA set a precedent by giving SMU the death penalty for paying players, yet TWO different institutions get caught covering up institutional sex crimes and got comparably a slap on the wrist. Case in point - both programs are prominent again and SMU is not.

I don't think there is any argument that cheating to win happens and is part of the game; hiding pedophilia and rape to win is abhorrent, and in my personal opinion those programs should have went away completely for a couple of years.

Worth pointing out that Ole Miss aren't clean either: they were cheating their @sses off throughout the entire Freeze tenure. As a Georgia grad I was absolutely mystified when they were flipping recruits like current Texans' OT Laremy Tunsil, and then his family members were suspiciously spotted with new jobs on campus in Oxford. Among other things...

Again, cheating to win is a part of football. What Baylor and PSU did was different imho.

Someone famous once said "He who is without sin cast the first stone." :)

I see that you are a Baylor grad and you are certainly entitled to support your alma mater, but most schools are guilty of minor infractions that involve payments to players and inappropriate contacts with recruits. Baylor was guilty of overlooking drug dealing, rapes and sexual assaults. I do hope that lessons have been learned and the past is the past, but I'm going to need more time before I change my viewpoint on the school. Hope it's true though.

Well at least on the field over this bowl season, Baylor had all of its players show up for the game, no opt outs that I am aware of. I wish the WSU football team had been able to say the same.

I like the Lane Train. Feels like he's grown up and was bummed they couldn't pull out the W.
