Colin Samuel. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound defensive back is rated three-stars by Rivals and also holds offers from Boston College, Colorado State, Fresno State, Illinois, Michigan, Purdue, San Diego State, SMU, Wyoming and others.
Gorney watched Samuel this weekend against Anaheim (Calif.) Servite and had glowing remarks for the rangy cornerback, who was tasked with covering four-star receiver Equanimeous St. Brown all night.
"The three-star lined up against Equanimeous St. Brown all night and did an admirable job," Gorney said in his SoCal Notebook. "Samuel is long and athletic so he can get his hands in there and poke away passes. On a deep ball to St. Brown, Samuel ran stride with him and knocked away the throw. He's physical at the line and then he has the athleticism to run deep with receivers."
Samuel's latest offers came from Michigan and Purdue and there are plans to visit Boston College, as well. We'll reach out to Samuel to get his thoughts on his first Pac-12 offer shortly.
