New player, a WR with an impressive offer list

Like the fact he played in an elite league in Florida and his size for growth going forward for a WR 6-2 170lbs

Hmmm....
"per the Palm Beach Post, Martin was arrested in April of 2014 on charges of unarmed burglary of an unoccupied dwelling in Palm Beach Gardens, grand theft of less than $5,000, dealing in stolen property and fraud."

I hope he has learned any lessons needed to keep himself clean going forward. I am concerned about this.

Hard to say what happened, based on the charges. It could have been serious. It could have been stealing a yard gnome and trading it for tank of gas.

According to this story, he was with a group of friends and they were trying to steal a Flat Screen TV.

"According to Palm Beach Gardens police, Martin and several others entered an unoccupied home after shattering a window.

They allegedly attempted to steal a flat-screen, high-definition television from the home, but fled after the burglar alarm sounded".

Not good, but I have no problem with him on the team. He was young and peer pressure is real, especially at that age. I don't know if he is a bad kid or a good kid who made a mistake. His leash will be short, but I am sure he already knows this. If he keeps clean, this is a big time pick up. Cannot wait for a few years when a veteran Priester, Martin and Ware are perhaps the starting receivers. That is going to be some nice talent on the field.

Apparently on Brand X Moos met with him and approved the offer. He made a mistake. He has a second chance. If he squanders this he'll be out. Not that complicated. Glad he's getting a second chance, and glad he's coming here. He looks like a solid player.

Interesting that Moos met with him prior to the offer so it appears that he has been well vetted. A ridiculous offer list. The young man has two strikes against him and I am sure that this has been pointed out to him and stressed. One false move and he is on the bus to Akron. I am assuming that he is taking the slot left open by the kid from New Orleans who flipped to Tulane. Fingers crossed and hope it works out for the best.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this is "complicated". I am concerned because I don't like people who steal. In fact, I detest them. There is no excuse for stealing.

As I said, maybe he has changed and truly regrets what he did and has made amends. If he hasn't, he'll likely do it again. This time in Pullman.

I don't disagree with your thoughts. I don't like thieves either, but a thief that had the opportunities he had stripped away from him publicly like that. That's a pretty big lesson.

Yes, Ricky Preston's spot is now taken. It appears he'll need some time to gain muscle and strength, but that offer list is quite impressive.

I think this is a huge pickup. If Leach and Moos both interviewed the kid, screened his background, and deemed him OK, then I trust their judgement. Say what you want about Leach, but he's not a guy who tolerates headache players. I can't imagine he would have offered this kid if he was a thug.

Yup, but I don't live in Pullman, so I don't really care.

If he screws up, he'll be booted, there'll be a write up in the Spokesman about it, we'll pretend to be up in arms about it, then we'll forget all about him a week later.

Low risk, high reward.
