Cannon was big today. He didn't start but was in 3 or 4 minutes into the game.

If Bonton doesn't start shooting better he needs to take the green light away from him. The kid is extremely quick, has a good handle, plays good defense and plays really hard but his shooting is atrocious. He's costing them too many possessions.
I was beginning to wonder why Cannon wasn't playing more. I"m hoping he gets at least 20 minutes a game, even if it comes at the expense of somebody like Kunc right now. I agree with you Rich, Bonton is gunning way too much for a guy who doesn't seem to be a good shooter. Maybe tighten the leash on him a bit....he does seem to play good defense and is pretty decent as a passer.
Good win tonight. I think we'll see some real bad games followed up by good efforts like this one. Pretty up and down while Smith figures out the best combination of players for team chemistry. Interesting that WSU has done okay in first halves this season but really struggle in the second half. Just the opposite tonight.

Cannon played great today and needs to see the court more. I wonder if he's simply not a great practice player as Ernie took a while to figure out how to work him in last year as well. He's a good enough shooter to demand some attention from deep and can blow past defenders who guard him too closely. Kunc might be the opposite. He's a gotten rave reviews in both off-season practice sessions but just doesn't have the size and experience to make it work in games yet.
Mark me down as a Tony Miller supporter. Same for Voldo. Nice to have a little beef and they give me hope that the conference season won't be a disaster on the glass.

Pretty sure Cannon earned more minutes today. Cannon did seem to take Kunc's minutes and was more productive on both ends.
