Mike Leach held a teleconference with reporters on Thursday afternoon to discuss where WSU stands the day before preseason camp opens. Here is a quick summary:

1. QB depth chart is deep. Trey Tinsley did better than expected in the spring. Anthony Gordon had a good spring. Cammon Cooper has gotten bigger and stronger since arriving in January. Gardner Minshew has had a great summer since arriving in May. Will be a lot of evaluation at that position. Feel good about all 4 guys. Just have to sort it out.

2. Wants to name a starting QB "several days" before 9/1 opener at Wyoming. That will allow the starter to get a lot of reps with 1st team offense before the game. Hinted starting QB will be named 10 days or so before opener. Winner will be the one who elevates the offense the best.

3. How will reps be divided? Unlikely it will be equal. Will initially look at all 4. Then channel it towards the top two "as quickly as we can"

4. Lots of receivers. Will play with 8. Just like at QB, they will channel it towards top 2 at each spot. WR corp is deep, but young. Inside WRs are Lewis, Sweet, Calvin, Bell, Harris and Arconado. Lewis getting 6th year of eligibility from NCAA was big. He is one of WESU's best blocking WRs.

5. RB - Wants to see how much Max Borghi has improved. OL - Need to develop depth.

6. Leach confirmed starting O-Line going into camp is LT Dillard, LG Watson, C Mauigoa, RG Valencia, RT Lucas.

7. All incoming true freshman have been on campus this summer and should be ready to go for 1st day of camp. Doesn't foresee any problems.

8. Little time to celebrate a homecoming to Wyoming. Leach grew up in Cody, Wyo. He went to HS with a lot of Wyoming graduates. Long distance from Cody to Laramie.
