Official "How's THAT for 'its personal ' JDL?" thread...

Even after the game, the Cougar players I heard had nothing bad to say about de Laura. No gloating, no reaction at all to what JDL said earlier. I have to think Dickert had a lot to do with keeping the team mature and classy. I wonder if JDL would've survived Dickert had he stayed anyway.

Glad Cougar

JDL didn’t stick around to back up that ridiculous flag planting at husky stadium last year nor did he back up his words about the Cougs after the game last week. Seems like he barks a lot but doesn’t back his word/actions up. I like that the Cougs let their play speak for itself and shut him down. Bottom line is he is staying home for the holidays while the Cougs are going bowling!!

That’s why players should never open their mouths. Coach Dickert had his players focused like he said and we see the results.
Yup. Wonder if he realizes yet he’s playing against the Cougar D and not playing against Cam Ward.

Ridiculous?

Sticking that flag into fuskie stadium will forever be a favorite memory to me.

I guess I am old school in that I believe in not showing up an opponent because it will always come back on you. Get your victory and go home. UW had mailed in the season, we blew them out and I felt that was the only statement we needed to make.

Players never yell at other players, right?

This is a daily occurrence among competitors and teammates.

For the shit the uw has done to WSU, I’d have set fire to their stadium on the way out.

Agree with this. There’s plenty to laugh at considering his comments last week and subsequent performance which wasn’t hard to foresee with how he’s struggled against good defenses. But he won the Apple Cup as a Coug and that was a fun moment for Cougs. Don’t really understand rubbing his face in that.

After all the blow out losses that came with the Leach, then the Rolo affair, it was culmination of an amazing game and a lot of pent up frustration. People seem to forget all the times when Dawg danced of our logo after the game!

Perhaps the way that BEFORE the bowl game he JDL was cementing a NIL deal with ARIZONA, and that he QUIT, WALKED OUT IN HIS STREET CLOTHES IN DURING THE 2ND HALF, WITHOUT BEING INJURED.

Basically he betrayed, was a traitor, quit, walked out on his teammates, etc, BEFORE THE END OF SEASON BOWL GAME, and in a WORSE way, manner, etc, then those that sat out the bowl game.

He should not have whined, complained and should have played the whole bowl game, or at least stayed in uniform with his teammates in solidarity on the sidelines, then after the season, worked out a NIL deal, transfered, in a non whiney, non complainative, non public way.

De Laura planting the flag was more about showing he actually cared to win that game. With Leach as HC, the "it's just another game" BS got so tiring, it's not just another game! It will never be just another game. It always seemed like Leach didn't give a crap about the AC as much as the fans did.

I’m not excusing his immaturity, don’t get me wrong. And I was loving watching his pick fest yesterday. I just don’t get poking fun at him where he was part of a great moment for Cougs. There’s plenty to be sour with about him, but I’m not taking that moment from him, he earned it. He also earned the ribbing he got after the game with his “it’s personal” comments. Reap what you sow.

Yelling is one thing. That’s just emotion and “fire.” When you shove your teammate on the way off the field, and then get in each other’s faces in another shoving match on the sideline, it’s a problem.

It was a Baker Mayfield copycat attention getting move by our “Leader”. Hell, the amount of effort & time it took him to make his way through the sea of students with the flag in order to execute the imitation was par for his immaturity. Orchestrated not Original.

Just curious…. How many games has he started in his career?

I think enough that he is gonna see the pine the rest of the year after his meltdown on Saturday.

It's one thing to have a bad game..but to shove your receivers and then proceed to throw 3 more picks as well as a fumble they were lucky to get back.

Can't have that

I don’t think he gets benched immediately. If he doesn’t play well in the first half against ASU, he might.
Wouldn’t be that surprised if he loses the job going into 2023. UA is pretty young at QB, and could also go get another.

I ask because he may be 1 touchdown thrown per game played…

He will lose the locker room. You don’t get to suck at football and then tell others they suck at football while shoving them and calling them names.

He is a shitty leader.

To be clear, this is me being 50% nicer as promised because he led WSU to an AC win.

I can't say that I disagree.
