I'm going to say that everyone here is putting more emphasis on JDL getting worked up during our game than they should. Here is an article regarding the coach's comments after the game. (Hint: he's not saying anything negative about JDL).

I'm thrilled that we punked him and it was gratifying to see "Bad Jayden" show up for our game, but if you read the article, it's clear that his biggest issues are that his team kind of sucks and the coach knows it. JDL isn't going anywhere unless he gets beaten by a better dude next year.

I wouldn't expect the coach to say anything negative about JDL even if it's warranted. I didn't get to see the game (listened to the audio broadcast) but I would have to believe JDL was a little overamped because of who he was playing against, despite what Frisch says. And he got more frustrated than he normally would because of who he was playing against, despite what Frisch says. Just another lesson for all players that it doesn't pay to make a lot of comments about your opponent before the game unless it's respectful. On the other side, kudos to WSU players and coaches for publicly staying low key & respectful prior & after the game. I didn't hear any Cougar spout off or gloat afterwards which is a credit to everyone in the Crimson & Gray.

I am not going to bag on JDL, he has maturity issues, however, as much as I am sure he was upset with the Rolo firing, he kept the team together last year, and actually handled that with a lot of maturity and got us to a bowl game, before he bailed, he could have pouted when Rolo was canned and torpedoed the season, but he didn't and finished the year strong. What happened around the bowl game will be discussed for years, so who knows what happened. I assume he saw the writing on the wall, and figured it was best to move on, that's his choice and part of the NIL today. Several chose not to play in the bowl game, to save themselves for the draft, worked out well for Borghi. Other players also left after the season, I am sure it had a lot to do with the Rolo situation. He did have a dominating performance in the Apple Cup, the list of WSU winning QBs in the Apple Cup the last 20 years is small, thankfully he made that list. He's in better place it appears, and we are better off without him, the current players don't hold and grudges, and still consider him a friend, so he appears to have been a good teammate. A fan's perspective is different and not as informed, I don't think he handled the situation well, but for a 19-20 year old kid that has been coddled for the past 10 years it happens, I am just happy as hell we beat AZ, as that game did concern me.
