A strong showing at the Buffaloes' camp in Boulder last Friday earned
Gavin Holmes his first power conference offer. The speedy cornerback from Metairie (La.) Archbishop Rummel returned home and decided to pull the trigger four days later.
Holmes announced his commitment to Colorado via Twitter on Wednesday evening:

Holmes clocked in with a blazing 4.32-forty early during last Friday's camp and he continued to shine during positional work and one-on-ones.
"Obviously they like my speed, the fact that I am faster than most people. But they also liked my skill set, the way I play corner," he told BuffStampede.com. "They said they think I am a special talent and that meant a lot coming from (Buffaloes head) coach (Mel) Tucker.
"I like how (Colorado) looks, it is a great place. It is something different than what I am used to. I don't see mountains out here in New Orleans. The town, the school and facilities there are really nice."
