Ohio State coaching change and recruiting

Well, here's an interesting article about how players can take a little more control back, rather than follow… This is a very interesting take. Like this kid. This could blow up in his face but to take this to the next level, it's apparent that the schollie isn't the driving factor for this specific kid… Who wouldn't LOVE to have a 5star "walk-on"??!! He goes where HE wants without being a pawn.

No LOI for a 5star?!

Stoops states" it is down to you and one other candidate". " if we hire you can you deliver for US ?" Interviewee takes a deep breath " yes i can and i can prove it. I know you guys really want recruit X and he will go wherever i go" . Now he has to leak word out, that he may take the Oklahoma job. He knows that recruit X has stated that his word to the cougs is solid. How does he do it without it being traced to the source?. You get the picture . There are so many scenarios and we may never know the real truth. All one is sure of is of the effect it had on coug recruiting. Yes these 4 star recruits have been a dime and dozen to coug football so it does not really matter?. To ascribe noble intentions or greedy intentions is not possible now. It is all conjecture with no real facts to back either position up. I do not wish Simmons bad but i do not wish him a great deal of success..It is all conjecture and poster's thinking that Leach's complete, now old staff,, staff will gather and sing cumbaya(sp) at an going away barbeque party are probably way off. What's done is done and Coug football has to move on.
I hope you are writing this as fiction. It sounds more like a gang or fraternity initiation than an actual interview. Go steal a Cougar recruit and I'll hire you. This was not a 5 star can't miss recruit that switched from WSU to Oklahoma. Green was a player that they never offered until late in the process when they struck out on higher rated prospects.

Lincoln Riley was hired and was likely asked who he would hire for the outside receiver position. Simmons resume speaks for itself. Oklahoma was probably recruiting him more than they were interviewing him.

1990, I agree.

But I have to acknowledge that Stoops' reputation is deserved and completely self-earned.

Thanks. I also agree with you that Stoops' reputation is well earned. That goes for all the Stoops.
