Interesting. So if the JC's are the remedial level path to BCS, does that make the FCS schools sort of the "finishing school" path?

Vernon Adams Jr., who has passed for nearly 10,500 yards and 110 TDs, graduates in June, therefore freeing him to enroll in a school that has a graduate program in his degree area (recreation management ... or managment, as the S-R spells it). People might recall he threw for nearly 500 yards and 7 TDs against the vaunted husky defense early last season.
Btw, Neuheisel recently predicted Oregon would make a move like this.

Adams graduates in June

Leave it to the Ducks to find this one out. I guess it fits within the rules but it still does not seem right. Perhaps we have lost our innocence? If it ever was there to began with.. Somehow i have never hated the ducks like everyone else but i am beginning to see the light..The" finishing school" concept may happen . If the P5 schools see a player at Utah State,SDSU,Eastern Michigan, etc.will they recruit a player offering" play for pay" which the so called smaller schools cannot afford? I would guess that the folks at Eastern Washington are not too happy about this.

The ducks do this in basketball too. They are that type of program.
The Phil Knight Club can buy virtually everything it needs. It's pretty sleazy, and it'll just get worse with scumbags like Emmert in charge of the NCAA.

I dislike the Ducks as much as the next guy, but this is the newest trend if you can improve yourself or get more playing time somewhere else. Russell Wilson to Wisconsin from NCST, Monroe to Akron from WSU and many others before them and more in the future. I personally think it's an example of how poorly the Ducks have recruited the QB position that they have to pillage an FCS team for a QB

This situation is much different than Russell Wilson at NC State and Monroe at WSU. RW's starting QB job was taken away from him by head coach Tom O'Brien and given to Mike Glennon. O'Brien told RW that he could not play baseball or else he would give his starting job away. RW played baseball, as he had been drafted by the Colorado Rockies.

Monroe left of his own accord as well.

Neither Wisconsin, nor Akron actively recruited either player while they were still involved with their previous team. It was only after they left the football program that the teams got involved. That is a huge difference.

Didn't see this thread on the free board. I agree with you Cr8. This really shouldn't happen. How many positive things can happen as a result of this?

The rule should be modified to prohibit schools from offering a student-athlete while that person is still enrolled as an undergraduate. Adams doesn't graduate until June, so technically he is an undergraduate. If Adams were a true junior with one year of eligibility left, it would be illegal for Oregon to contact him, let alone offer him a scholarship to entice him to transfer. For decades, duck fans had dawg envy in the worst way and wished to supplant them as the PNW's premier college football program. Done, and then some, but skin has become sleaze. Phil Knight has become to college football what Bill Gates has become to public education: keep throwing the cash around and everyone bows.
